Anyone remember April 21st, 2016?
I remember months ago people were calling a single semi-sane piece a sign Trump was improving or was already presidential. Even his most ardent supporter wouldn't call his conduct presidential anymore. He spends his days getting into stupid Twitter wars, doing things no President before or after would stoop to.
For instance, here is Trump on Lebron:
"LeBron is a great player and a great guy!" (5/16/2013)
"Lebron James was just interviewed by the dumbest man on television, Don Lemon. He made Lebron look smart, which isn’t easy to do. I like Mike!" (8/3/2018)
The swing in opinion came after Lebron made a few anti-Trump statements in his interview, which largely focused on Lebron literally opening an elementary school for at-risk children. Lebron's said he felt Trump was "using sports to kinda divide us." That's it. That was enough to prompt the President of the country to completely change his opinion on Lebron and feel it was worth his time to call out an interview that was, again, largely about opening an elementary school in Akron.
I'm glad I've never had to justify support for such a tacky, classless person. When I see vulgar behavior I feel that there is nothing stopping me from saying "That isn't acceptable." I wish this was true for everyone.
"The campaign is evolving and transitioning, and so am I," he [Trump] told the Wall Street Journal. "I'll be more effective and more disciplined."
Trump put it another way during a Thursday morning appearance on NBC's Today Show. "I will be so presidential," he said, "you will be so bored. You'll say, 'Can't he have a little more energy?'"
