I'm just supporting my statement that he is a Trump appointee who reports to a Trump appointee (who has recused himself because he may be involved in the investigation), who reports to Trump. That's the person who's now in charge of any DoJ investigation of Trump's campaign.

You attempted to refute my statement by claiming he was not a Trump appointee, but rather a career DoJ guy that Trump inherited from the previous administration, which is patently false.

Yeah google is your friend and you would quickly see he is not political. He was employed by the justice department since 1990 and was promoted to AAG that required confirmation. Sorry it doesn't fit your narrative that Trump appointed one of his minions to fire FBI director.

There are a ton of U.S. Attorneys and Justice Department employees who are strongly biased. Plenty of conservatives served in those roles during the Obama administration, and plenty of liberals served in those roles during Bush and Trump's administrations.

I don't get the argument. Those departments don't fire everyone when a new admin comes in and replace the thousands of attorneys, supervisors and staff with patronage appointments.

Why is this timing especially suspicious? Because:

Senior White House and Justice Department officials had been working on building a case against Mr. Comey since at least last week, according to administration officials. Mr. Sessions had been charged with coming up with reasons to fire him, the officials said.

So one week ago Comey goes before the deputy attorney general asking for funding for the Russian investigation, and at roughly the same time the attorney general was told to start looking for reasons to fire him.

Trump is a bit of a dolt if, after lavishly statinging Comey was the best thing since sliced bread, suddenly decided to fire him, and in a further strange twist used a phrase thanking him (Comey) for stating he was not a subject or target of an investigation a number of times.

If something does not make sense (the sentence referred to above), it probably isn't true.

Trump has a long and well-documented history of telling whoppers. Something else was going on here. What it was, we may never know, but it definitely was on the down-low.

At this point, and given Trump's inability to tell the truth if a convenient lie is available, I'm going to conclude there's credence to the theory it was done to hinder the investigation, because that theory makes the most sense to me right now.

This would have all been different if Trump hadn't been a charter member of the liar's club. Constantly exaggerating and lying to the American public has a way of catching up to you.

If he had made an effort to be transparent and honest, I might not have this opinion right now.....

Note I am open to anyone advancing other theories with some facts behind them, but as of this moment, and especially after the bellweathers I watch stating it is troubling (McCain, Graham and others), I believe something is being hidden from us (the American people).

At this point, considering everything that has come out in the past 24 hours or so, Republicans would be best served by throwing Trump under the bus and trying to distance themselves from him and the mess he is actively creating. In doing so, they might be able to somehow miraculously save the House in 2018.

However, if they continue to sit on the sidelines, and worse yet, actively attempt to save him in the manner McConnell is, there will probably be hell to pay in 2018. And if they lose the House, Trump and the Republican agenda is effectively over. With the next census in 2020, you can bet Democrats will be taking a page from the Republican playbook and attempting to game the system through gerrymandering.

I just do not understand the thinking of Republicans right now. It seems awfully shortsighted. Better to let burn the guy you never liked in the first place than to let him almost singlehandedly ruin their highly successful strategy for the past 7 years.

The Head of the Census Bureau resigned yesterday citing unwillingness by WH to use the current projection numbers provided by the Bureau ahead of the upcoming 2020 Census as well as correct data, currently available. Diff publications have reported this. Happened yesterday amidst the J-off fest over the Comey news by Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, etc.,

Have you looked at the republican leadership lately? There is not much competence there. U would think they are still out of power trying to stonewall the democrats. But no, they are just trying to make single payer become a reality.
