Bush's legacy was killed by Ross Perot.

      Yup.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

This is also the way I feel. The ability one has to succeed or fail based on their own skill and effort is the core to fulfillment from one's work and a core value of capitalism. Socialistic models are in direct opposition.

          • I never thought I'd say this but I think Bernie has a shot to become President. Hillary and the Republican Party are both "hot messes".

                      • A new national poll has Sanders within 2 percent of Clinton. But a New Hampshire poll by the Boston Globe has Cinton pulling to within 9 percent of Sanders.

                          • Now that is a Gawker-level piece of character assassination. This sort of thing makes me think we'll have to abolish the Presidency and Congress is 20 years because with social media there won't be a single electable candidate left. And even a brief level of fact-checking reveals that the story they are telling isn't even all that accurate. He earned his first paychecks at 25 and 26 working as an aide in a psychiatric hospital and then teaching preschoolers for Head Start. After that, he worked for the Vermont Department of Taxes. While continuing to try to support himself, he was trying to run for office and engaging full-time in political work. “I don’t know what he did for money,” Troville said. “Everything was always campaigning. Everything was always organizing. Everything was always writing.” Same sources as that attack piece. It attacks him for being lazy, unmotivated, and unsuccessful using the same sources that admired him for his effort, tirelessness, and enthusiasm.

If you dislike his policies, you should have an almost unending source of material to laugh at, attack or make fun of without going for cheap character attacks. And as a counterpoint to the ad itself, this is a short Politico piece that asked Vermonters about their personal experiences with Bernie. He is without a doubt well-liked as a person and a politician by the people in his state and city. That is as much as I care about a candidate's personal life. I don't want to know that they worn hand-me-down clothing until they were 25, or got suspended from 8th grade for two weeks for bullying a kid, or that they got cut from their high school softball team for not being in shape (all of those were hypothetical stories, tbc). I don't want to know that because what matters to me is their policies, their consistency as a politician, and their ability to handle the office of President.
