    We'll see what happens to the 'Texas Miracle' if that doesn't occur. I was down here in the mid 80's and remember what it was like. I don't think it will be that bad, but this WILL get pretty bloody if there's not a quick turnaround, and I would be betting that there will be no turnaround.

    My neighbor is a petroleum geologist for Exxon/Mobil. He was saying they've cut their exploration budget severely next year, and that conversation was about $10/barrel ago. Oil companies here are already cutting staff . I expect a lot of unhappy people in January.

    Pretty sad this is all happening at Christmas.....
    As soon as existing energy projects are completed, we'll see major slowdowns. Unlike the 2009 recession, there was major real estate development this time around and many projects still under construction. The multifamily developers are banking on filling their units at $2000-$2500/mo rents. The public oil companies will get hammered when their revenues get cut in half. It's gonna be ugly.

      Rand Paul is a nice GOP canidate. Elizabeth wareen is a good democratic choice. Bernie Sanders would be a nice independent..
