I think you have the wrong thread.

I do have a propensity for tripping.

I was thinking the same thing... First time I've ever heard someone talk up their 529. I've seen people brag about their overall portfolio, 401-K and even heard people talk up their Roth from time to time. Never heard anyone lead with "My education trust is doing well" before.

Looks like Romney might be making quite the comeback.

I suppose it really helps when pretty much everything you said turns out to be right.

Moderate Republican losers always do well with the press. Romney, McCain, Dole, etc...

Perry probably did a smart thing in hiring Schmidt and Barber. While Conservatives hate these guys because they bash Tea Party types, they have success in at least getting their candidates through the primary system and raising lots of old crony money.

Since it won't let me read it, and therefore it's not a great read, I must be a Democrat that refuses to accept the Wall Street Journal as credible.

So now I think I will go smoke some dope in my electric car, throw some vogue gay porn on my car's DVD player to prove I am down with the movement, enable an illegal alien with a felony record by hiring him to wash my car, run to the hospital to use my Obamacare and get 60% of my medical needs taken covered at a third rate medical clinic where I will be seen by a physician assistant to treat my depression symptoms (they won't let me see an actual doctor unless I wait until November), and then run down and grab a welfare check so I can pay the exorbitant electric bill I have to pay due to having an electric car and the remainder of my medical needs paid off, go file for some long term disability due to staph infection I picked up at the only clinic in the area accepting Obamacare, and even though I am disabled and can't afford it I think I will go to the Furgeson rally to let the authorities know they are assholes for cussing at me -- but never actually meet or mingle with any actual locals or people of color there because that would be too uncomfortable. I better run to Starbucks to get a $4 coffee once my welfare check clears, 'cause this is gonna be a long day.

What'd you do to me John?

Jeb Bush Begins to Make His Move

It looks like Republican Jeb Bush is moving closer and closer to a presidential bid in 2016

The big political news over the weekend is that it looks like Republican Jeb Bush is moving closer and closer to a presidential bid in 2016 -- after announcing he would release 250,000 emails from his days as Florida governor, as well as release a new book. (You're usually not taking these actions if you've decided AGAINST a presidential run, right?) Folks, this isn't someone simply dipping his toes into the presidential waters; it's someone who's bouncing up and down on the diving board. More than anything else, Jeb's moves are a signal to Republican donors and campaign staffers that he's going to probably run. (They also help to counter last week's Bloomberg report that Bush, less than a month ago, filed documents showing him as a chairman and manager of an offshore private equity account.) The local Florida reporter who interviewed Bush about his upcoming email and book releases, said, per the Washington Post: "I think it's now a question of 'when' he runs, rather than 'if' he runs." Oh, and Bush today delivers the winter commencement address at the University of South Carolina -- a state holding one of the earliest GOP presidential primaries.

He will make a fine democratic candidate.

Jeb Bush is an improvement from Christie, but I was hoping for a bigger improvement.

Now that oil is below $60 a barrel, I bet Rick Perry is really praying for a quick rebound.

We'll see what happens to the 'Texas Miracle' if that doesn't occur. I was down here in the mid 80's and remember what it was like. I don't think it will be that bad, but this WILL get pretty bloody if there's not a quick turnaround, and I would be betting that there will be no turnaround.

My neighbor is a petroleum geologist for Exxon/Mobil. He was saying they've cut their exploration budget severely next year, and that conversation was about $10/barrel ago. Oil companies here are already cutting staff . I expect a lot of unhappy people in January.

Pretty sad this is all happening at Christmas.....
