The Affordable Care Act tried to put some measures into place that would help. I know from personal experience that the removal of the pre-existing conditions exlcusion, and the removal of the lifetime limits, has benefitted my family now and in the future. Is the law perfect? Probably not, but at least Obama was trying to address the problem. Better than being a do-nothing filibustering congress.
    A. You obviously don't own or manage a small business
    B. Medicare will be gone soon, so that won't be an issue
    C. Use spell check once in a while

    • Trying to figure out what went wrong and having a discourse about it (see Royal, GoShockers89, Dan, etc. on another thread) and having a meltdown are two completely different things.

Spelling and grammar smack, sweet! I assume you are referring to my typo where I accidentally put the "L" before the "C"? in exclusion? You got me there.

Medicare will be gone? Based upon current projections, yes the system will run out of money around 2023. That is exactly why we have to reform the system- even if some doctors don't get to charge the government for every wild and crazy procedure they can dream up.

And no, I don't manage a small business. It's actually very large, but thanks.

Bingo!!! We have someone who understands the reason for the Affordable Care Act!! Then we have a clown like shoxlax who spews his venom everywhere. My healthcare costs have been going up between 10%-20% a year for the past 6-7 years. The Affordable Care Act is passed and guess what??? My healthcare costs only went up 3% this year and my company added eye care coverage. What do you know??? The Act is doing what it was meant to do. Like emcfizzle said, is it perfect??? No, but at least Obama tried to do something to help the American people which is more than you can say about anyone sitting on the other side of the aisle from him.

I had to move 800+ miles to keep my job. Many others were not so lucky.

I'm glad things are going well Marty. But as more and more jobs are eliminated and more and more people are forced to leave or go on assistance, even more will be affected.

Like Doc said, the short term effects may be wonderful for a few people. Check back in about seven or eight years. Not sure why you are attacking me for stating my opinion both good and bad on what is wrong with the Republican party or why I don't feel all hope and changy. Spewing venom is coming on here and gloating like a ten year old who just stole his little brother's twinkie and gotten away with it. Sorry, but that offends me.

                • one of the biggest reasons for why healthcare is so expensive is because we have to order so many unnecessary tests just to cover ourselves from not getting a malpractice lawsuit. Therefore so many expensive and not important tests and procedures are performed sometimes to rule out some crazy disorder because of the fear of missing something and getting sued. A lot needs to be changed and hopefully it will

Which in turn means more people sucking on the government tit and more dependent on the government. It will just get harder and harder to get these peoples votes. Fantasy land must be a great place to live.

I did not support ObamaCare. I am still not a fan of it, but I have reaped some benefits from it. I got a fairly sizeable refund check this summer because my health insurance company overcharged me last year. And this year my health insurance premiums actually went down slightly. But it was the first decrease I have ever experienced after years of increases.

Well u might head over to hawker Beechcraft - they announced more layoffs yesterday. Looks like there are about 70-80 blue and white collar workers available for u to choose from.

Don't let him kid you. His business has felt the effects of the last four years too. And don't even get me started on unions and how they have driven jobs right out of the country.

Hell, Obama may well get the electoral vote for Nebraska's second district like he did in the last election.

My two big predictions: the election will decided relatively early and I will hate the results.

Now that Romney has conceded Florida, we have the final electoral vote count: Obama 332, Romney 206. I think DoubleJay came the closest with his predictions on shockernet. That guy from the NY Times hit it right on the nose. At the time I thought he was being way too biased for Obama but it turns out he was right.

Never has been right (or the closest) been so unsatisfying.
