An interesting off-year race for the Governorship of Virginia between former democratic governor and long-time democrat hack Terry McCauliffe and republican Glenn Youngkin.
The race is surprsingly close considering Virginia is deep blue and overflowing with denizens of the DC corruptocracy.
Election Day is November 2nd. Apparently, the dems are quite concerned as they are bringing in a lot of non-Virginians to campaingn for McCauliffe including Obama, Jill I'm a Doctor Biden, Kamalala, The C'mon Man hinself is schedule to campaign this week I believe. Geogia election denier Stacey Abrams and various other "celebs" from outside of Virginia. The game plan down the stretch appears to be to bring out the 2020 election playbook claining voter suppression. They have already sued the US Postal Service for claims of disenfranchisement. I am sure this is just a ploy to set up an exteension of voting beyond November 2nd should the dems find themselves in need of a few extra votes to put McCaulffe over the top.
An interesting strategy for McCauliffe was to campaign from the pulpit, primarily in black churches, with a strategy called Souls to Polls. Although illegal the dems didn't even try to disguise it as they know that dem-controlled IRS will not go after the tax-exemptions of these black churches.
The polls indicate the races has tightened in the past month or so since McCauliffe declared in a debate and other venues that parents should have no so in what is taught to their chidlren at school. Then that has been compounded by the rape of a high school freshman girl in Loudoun County by an alphabet something or other chosing to use the women's restroom. An incident which was then covered up by the Loudoun County school board. However, Mcauliffe claims the #1 issue for voters in Virginia is access to free, unfettered abortion plus. In addition, McCauliffe has campaigned more as if he is running against Trump than against Youngkin.
While Youngkin appears to be a pretty solid candidate, polls showing the race close and the dems seemingly very concerned based on their actions, I anticipate that McCauliffe will prevail (one way or the other). But it will be interesting to see how close Youngkin can make it.
