Your opening statement ("He didn't much care for black people and wanted to send them out of the country") is by itself very biased and lacks perspective and reads Lincoln's mind more than you or anyone else knows. (your next line does add some perspective but not enough imo). IMO, Lincoln was a great man who made the most difficult decisions possible during a time of "CIVIL WAR" and national strife. He got it from ALL sides. Some thought he sided with blacks too much and others thought he didn't enough. People from both sides wanted to kill him and Lincoln didn't have the advantage of a Civil Service to protect him like our President has today. He was thought by many to be too easy on the South (after the CW) because he wanted to get our country back from divided to reunited as soon as possible. However, if you look at other positions he had toward black people during a time of extreme prejudice in our country, you see that he wasn't extreme at all either way. In fact, he was probably ahead of his times in many ways and who knows what would have happened to our country if not for Abraham Lincoln. Here is a couple of articles that give a true, balanced story of what was happening and what Abraham Lincoln believed in the 1850s and 60's. Remember that during that time, Kansas was referred to as "Bleeding Kansas" because of the fighting and Civil strife that was happening in our state, especially at the border with Missouri who was a slave state.

I don't know Matt Damon's politics, but my guess is he is probably a Bernie guy. I'm almost positive he's in the private jet hopping climate crisis crowd. He can go eff himself.
