Here is a study which says that chronic and persistent use through adolescence and young adulthood correlates with less success. Quitting, though shows no difference from abstenscion.

I don’t think there is any question that drug and alcohol use have negative consequences. It just doesn’t have anything to do with success or failure in the black community because use is consistent across races.
Wufan is right that True Hardcore Potheads (not talking about Friday/Saturday Weekend recreational users or recreational 1 beer/joint an evening), just like True Alcoholics, and other addicts don’t have long term success. They tend to need more numbing when things don’t go well. Kids that are heavy users at a young age (adolescents) also tend to struggle over the long haul. It arrests the Brain and emotional advancement of under developed brains. People who tend to do these activities later in their college years will avoid addiction and have better chances of success.

Jonathan Isaac is one brave human being. He was the only Orlando Magic team member who stood with his hand over his heart during the National Anthem. The first question after the game was to explain not kneeling. Just a couple of years ago, the persons who kneeled had to explain.

Orlando Magic power forward Jonathan Isaac speaks about his decision to stand during the national anthem before his team’s game vs. the Brooklyn Nets.#NBA✔️S...

College students arrested for chalking pre-born lives matter on sidewalk. Charges are defacing public property

How many times did police allow public property to be defaced in during the past two months? And I’m not talking about using chalk which washes off.

Maybe they should just take over a 6 block area and claim it as their own since they didn't get their way. Seems to work for the woke crowd. This world seriously has some backwards priorities when we give so much to one side and simply don't care that babies are being murdered daily. God help us.

“Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past.“ - George Orwell, nineteen eighty four

Create a past that was a time of misery and slavery from which it claims to have liberated the human race, thus compelling people to work toward the goals of anti-racism.

The 1619 Project is an ongoing project developed by The New York Times Magazine in 2019 with the goal of "refram[ing] American history" around slavery and the contributions of African Americans.

The 1619 Project Curriculum in Lesson Plan Grouping - The 1619 Project, inaugurated with a special issue of The New York Times Magazine, challenges us to reframe U.S. history by marking the year when the first enslaved Africans arrived on Virginia soil as our nation's foundational date. Here you will find reading guides, activities, and other resources to bring The 1619 Project into your classroom. Wondering where to start? Dive into our Reading Guide.

Slavery was actually a "sin and blight on all of humanity". It was practiced all over the world by every culture and ethnic group. John Newton penned the words for the song "Amazing Grace" in 1772. John Newton was a slave trader who was captured and put into slavery in the Far East for a time. He escaped from slavery and became a slave ship captain for a period. He became convicted in what he was doing, and became an Anglican Minister. Later, he became an abolitionist, and joined forces with William Wilberforce in England to abolish the practice of slavery. In 1807, Great Britain abolished slavery.

A musical and later a movie, of the same name "Amazing Grace" was made portraying this song and some of the actions condemning this practice.

My concern is that if every black in the United States is a Victim of past slave practices, every person in the world is also a Victim. Every religion including the Moors (Muslims) in Spain and into the Middle East captured slaves. African tribes held, and captured slaves, They bought and sold slaves from warring tribes in Africa, and sold them to the outside western world, In biblical times, slaves were a part of every culture in Egypt and throughout the world at that time. I don't believe anyone can tell of a culture that wasn't involved in this practice in some way.

John Newton's conviction on slavery spread across the Atlantic Ocean into the New World and many condemned the practice in the South for years prior to the Civil War. Some of his story is told in the biography "Amazing Grace/John Newton. While this sin was a world wide sin, it may the sin that breaks the back of our country too.

Any discussion of the abolition of slavery in the UK and USA that doesn't involve a heaping dose of the story of the Quakers is devoid of the true history of abolition.

Americans have already paid the price of the sin of slavery during the Civil War:

Kung Wu say, man who read woman like book, prefer braille!

Over 360,000 deaths for the Union alone and about 655,000 total. That is about half of all deaths the US has had in all wars combined.

Just over 2% of the population at that time. I read it would be equivalent to 7,000,000 deaths in today's population numbers.

The price has already been paid.

It wasn’t the full story. Mainly about the redemption of one important man and a great story. A very good family movie too if you’re looking.
