  • This is what Dr. Fauci and the CDC won't move to admitting is now the case that many, maybe even most Scientists are now believing is the case. This is also the Science that leads to the emerging thought from Scientists that herd immunity is just around the corner maybe a month or two away (with the vaccines from "Operation Warpspeed" that are also moving forward) Clod can continue to believe in Fauci, but the world is moving on.

"Killer T Cells" are stronger than the antibodies that were believed in last year. Many people don't have antibodies show up but they do have Killer T Cells.

Much of this due to the foresight of the Trump administration in organizing and getting the vaccine together and out historically quickly. Bravo.

        • And it was just released earlier in the week that Trump and Melania were vaccinated in January. Any thoughts as to why they would keep their vaccination secret w/ such a large percentage of their followers lost in a state of delusion? What a despicable/evil/maldeveloped human being.

The scale of the problem was on view again on Tuesday with the publication of a poll showing that in Michigan, almost half of Republicans surveyed said they would not get the vaccine once it was available to them. In contrast, 90% of Democrats and 80% of independents said they would get the shot, according to the survey of 600 voters conducted by EPIC-MRA.

You're completely incoherent, trapped in a thoughtless slumber, deep inside your leader's nether region.

You may be the last Trumper to wake up, but when you eventually do... you're gonna be awfully ashamed of yourself.

              Unplug!

But it was your party when they were putting in place the Patriot Act, were more serious about foreign intervention, and were banning naughty movies and video games?

                No wonder you switched!

The first part was in response to 9/11 when we had our two biggest buildings knocked down. We also invaded two countries. I don't know what all I was "for", I just wanted revenge on those terrorist cock-suckers.

"Serious about foreign intervention"? Too broad for me to form an opinion on.

And I was against all the hubbub surrounding naughty movies and video games. I played a lot of video games back in the day. I never wanted to shoot anybody after pwning in CounterStrike.

I was just like any other Republican that grew up in Kansas until the start of last summer. Since my eyes were forcibly opened I am seeing more and more issues (mostly intellectually) with the party I was born into.

Here's something that's gonna piss a lot of people off: I am starting to think that the majority of intelligence is on the Democratic side of the aisle and the majority of conspiracy theories and overall undisciplined thinking is on the Republican side. Sure the Democrats have plenty of enabled rejects (ie, Snowflakes, Cancel Culture, etc), but the best minds of that party are thinking in coherent, science-based ways. The best minds in our party are calling to overturn elections over a bunch of illegal ballots that nobody has ever found.

It hurts me to say all this. I was (am?) the biggest fan in the world of Newt Gingrich. I think his mind is fantastic.

I still believe 100% that Capitalism is the most efficient form of economy and subsidies are wasteful, but I cannot stand on the side of the Trump fools. I cannot do it for one more second.

I want to vote for Arnold Schwarzenegger. Perhaps with all the "fairness" the Dems are attempting to institute, they'll change the law about having to be born in this country. I mean, what does that even mean anymore? People have been popping over the border to drop their fetuses for decades. Make the law read that they must have been a citizen for 35 years or something.

And the reason I'm for a guy like Arnold is because his love for America is founded on his experiences in countries run much differently than ours. He understands, as do all immigrants from oppressive areas, that we have the magic sauce. The antidote for what the Dems are selling is for Republicans to start putting only immigrants on the tickets who KNOW that freedom is superior to the alternative the AOC acolytes are peddling.

P.S. And freedom does not mean ignoring guidance by healthcare professionals during a once in a century pandemic (you dumbasses).

Wait, Hiden Joe and Mocktor Jill can get vaccinated but Trump and Melania can't? Also, weren't you the one trying to figure a way to game the system to get a vaccine?

Mask mandates and restaurant restrictions tied to fewer Covid-19 illnesses and deaths, CDC study says

In counties where states require masks, Covid-19 case and death rates slow down -- but in counties where states allow on-site restaurant dining, illness and death rates appear to speed up, according to a new study from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Most states still require face masks to reduce the spread of Covid-19. These are the ones that don't
The research, published by the CDC on Friday, comes at a time when several states are expanding business capacity and lifting or preparing to lift mandates for people to wear masks -- with Texas and Mississippi joining those states this week. The new study takes a close look at changes in the growth rates of Covid-19 cases and deaths in counties before and after state-issued mask mandates were implemented and restaurant dining was allowed from March through December of last year.
Why on earth would there be Captain Obvious mask efficacy studies still issued this late in the game, is evidence of the damage the prior administration inflicted on the most malleable of American minds.

The Biden Administration has had an impact with their consistent messaging. You can clearly see it in the numbers.

                          • Yes, there is a 1% increase in cases after 3 months when state wide bans are lifted between March and December 2020. Amazing! The case rate was identical 60 days before and 60 days after. What a BS study.

                              Growth rate, not cases.

While it's clear that an airborne pathogen is going to have a field day in a place like a bar/restaurant, what likely isn't clear to most is the fact that shutting down bars/restaurants when growth rates are rising quickly, is not nearly enough.

Up until a certain threshold you must:

                              1) Test aggressively and indiscriminately
                              2) Contact trace thoroughly and enforce quarantines
                              3) Enforce masks in all indoor buildings

After a certain threshold you must:

                              1) Shut every effing community meeting opportunity down for a period of weeks at a time.
                              2) Test everyone on the street in outbreak areas and remove/invite infected from their household (if appropriate - can't leave kids at home alone) to a healthcare center for observation and further testing.

This is roughly what all the successful countries did and should be the official guidebook for the future - particularly if the next one is worse.

And before people start squealing about the "removing from household" part; in a war, soldiers are conscripted. Logic then follows that in a dangerous pandemic, it isn't outrageous to expect the infected to chill at a healthcare facility until they are no longer contagious. This serves two purposes: 1) it obviously removes them from the community, and 2) it puts them in direct contact with healthcare if they take a turn for the worse. Win-win.
