The problem is (even on Shockernet), no one really wants to have a real, true discussion of what’s happening in our public schools. But when parents, legislators, and others (in Kansas) bring up these issues, all one hears is that this isn’t going on in my schools, when they really have no idea what curricula or books are being purchased or introduced into their schools by their teachers, or librarians (who have separate budgets with almost no over site), and many school administrators just initial or sign the purchase slips that come through their office because they don’t care, are super busy, or too trusting.

The problem is is that when school choice is brought up, the Democrats and Liberals just demagogue and say what I said above. The harm that is happening to kids, is just sad

Here is what has been happening in Florida, and the Democrat Party just like your example, just accuse Gov. DeSantis of “book banning”, instead of removing “porn”, and Biden and his Cabinet “trans” supporters just back up that DeSantis is book banning.

Massachussetts 7th grader was sent home from school by the Principal for wearing a t-shirt that said "There are only two Genders". The school has had supportive programs in the past for trans students, and didn't feel like this shirt was appropriate. The student and his family are suing.

Middle school student allegedly sent home for refusing to change shirt that said 'There are only two genders' Liam Morrison addressed school board about his concerns on April 13.

"Yes, words on a shirt made people feel unsafe. They told me that I wasn't in trouble, but it sure felt like I was. I was told that I would need to remove my shirt before I could return to class. When I nicely told them that I didn't want to do that, they called my father," he explained during a Middleborough School Committee meeting on April 13.

I get free speech and all, but why do this? Why even wear it to school? You know what's going to happen. I hate it when the right does this kinda crap. I don't like all the trans stuff either, but this is just petty. Especially using a 7th grader to make your political statement. That's the **** the left does.
