Where in my post did i say we were going to make the playoffs, I said we were only 8 back, which is doable, but im not predicting a division championship, but i am saying I like the direction of Royals, especially considering the farm system.

The problem is this same post could be inserted into a thread going back to the last 20 years and nothing has come from it.

I would be very cautious floating around the "h" word. Just because the Royals have hit a hot streak against some of the weaker teams in the league doesn't mean things are "changing".

At this point, a Royal fan should be banned for using the "h" word until something concrete has actually happened and translated to actual hard results. It's best to just be surprised when something actually good happens instead of dropping the "h" word for the thousandth time and then getting proven wrong for the thousandth time.

Hosmer looked good today. I believe he went 4-5 with a double and 2 RBI.

Moustakas wasn't as good at the plate but looked good on D and made one spectacular play.

Well, in the "huge" series with Chicago in which the Royals "needed" a series win, they get swept including a nail biting 15-5 loss today. Kansas City finishes the first half with the 4th worst record in the AL.

You do have to give them credit for playing .500 ball since Hillman was fired. They're a long way from reaching a penant, but not so far from at least competing. If they can dump Jose Guillen, I would be quite pleased.

Is it me or is PC Bob McClure nowhere near the firing line of criticism? Isn't it his job to get these guys to throw strikes/be aggressive, etc? I watched Bannister throw about 10% fastballs to the Yankees Friday night, one start after he admitted trying to "trick" the A's and make them chase was a mistake. No, Davies and Bannister have no buisness being in the big leagues right now with ERAs near 6, but what's McClure doing for his check? Anyone, and I mean anyone can throw the ball over the plate. Bannister might be suprised what happens if he doesn't walk 3 to 5 guys per outing. Everyone else has taken heat; why not McClure?

I have a feeling that the Royals don't think that Bannister and Davies (especially Davies) are long term answers. However, they don't have any options with young players not being ready yet and injuries to their starting pitching staff. They need for Mesche and Hochever to get healthy quick to team with Grienke. The relievers are pretty consistent and a strength at this time.
