Blame this on Collegiate. The recruiting there is fairly obvious, but the KSHSAA doesn't have the resources to track down the sources of the money that pay the recruiting tuitions.
Collegiate is absolutely hated in 3A, which is towns of about 3,000 population. There are an awfully lot of those. Collegiate has access to athletes from a population base of 500,000 and they use that population base to compete against schools with very limited population bases.
Collegiate is moving to another league because the league they were in disbanded, then realigned - into about the same league without Collegiate. Collegiate essentially got kicked out of their league.
Collegiate is known as the rich kids' school that cheats. That's not a good combination.
