I never thought I would see the words "Mangino" and "run" used in the same sentence.
That rug really tied the room together.

What puzzles me is, why is all this coming out now? Why wasn't it an issue before now? Why would KU hire him, knowing all along this information? Don't tell me they didn't do a background check. KU has more to blame, they hired him knowing how he is. Mangino is the same guy today, that he was when he was first hired there. My KU friends are telling me that Lew Perkins has never liked Mangino and now wants him out of there. This chest poking thing was just what he was looking for. BTW, if the kid had sholder pads on when he was poked in the chest, Mangino did more harm to his finger, than he did to this kids chest.

My guess is Perkins will continue with his witch hunt and dump the beefy one. KU football will fall back to bottom feeder status anually in the Big 12.

Perkins is an idiot! But he is KU's idiot now, and I'm thankful he's not our AD.

Big Lew. He's really making KU look bad with this public trial. The national media sees the hypocrisy of these actions being acceptable when you're 12-1 and unacceptable during a 5 game losing streak. They also realize that Big Lew is the prime mover in the lynch mob.

Mangino is a bully (so what) and he's going to be hung for it. Anyone that knows Big Lew knows he's a bigger one. It is almost enjoyable to watch this unfold.

When they hired lew a few years back I thought they would get rid of MM back then but ku had a pretty good year and looked to be better the following year. Who can ever forget how happy lew was when they won the orange bowl and everything was rosey? Now that things have changed and the product does not look to improve next year things look dark in who-ville. I believe the timing of this allows lew to make the change and offer a job before alot of other schools start looking and making offers. There are alot of big names from last years crop of dismissals from the sec that might relish coming into the big 12 at a mediocre football program. I really feel this is what is pushing the whole agenda at this time.

Investigation is first step for termination with cause.

News this week that Kansas University administrators have launched an investigation into the actions of football coach Mark Mangino might have come as a bizarre development to some, but those familiar with the wording of the coach’s contract might not be surprised. According to the contract — which is a public record but that was […]

An anonymous individual from the KU athletic department dropped off a copy of the coaches contract at the Lawrence Journal World. I hope Mangino sues Big Lew and takes KU to the cleaners.

Lew doesn't seem like a nice guy.

I guarantee that picture of lew was taken several years ago. The man has aged and not gracefully. I wonder when they will get rid of him since he does not project a good image of k-who just by being so damned ugly. They need to put a pretty face on the brand. :good:

Mark Mangino will not return as Kansas football coach, a source close to the situation told Joe Schad of ESPN Thursday night.

                            He resigned

                              According to souces:

                              Houston Nutt not interested.
Brian Kelly not interested. (Though he will be next coach at Notre Dame)
                              Gary Patterson not interested.
                              Randy Dreiling not interested.
                              Tim Brewster not interested.
Me, I'm not interested either, but entertained none the less.
