This crap just pisses me off. These people need to hear this story about this one boy and how he cried wolf when there was not a wolf actually there. It just so happened that when there was actually a wolf there, nobody would listen to him.

Racism sucks no matter from which group it originates and attempting to justify and ignoring the facts simply because the perpetrator is a member of one's own racial, national, tribal, religious, or cultural origin, or background makes about as much sense as pissing in the wind.

Unfortunately, ethnic hatreds are deeply buried and as we have and are experiencing all over the world still today, they can last for 15 or more centuries with no end in sight.

Fuller gave her a masters in theology? I wonder if they knew what her end-game was. She sounds like a fraud to me, which would explain why she's at an Ivy League school.

I have another theory. If any "racism" led to Trayvon Martin's death, it was due to the black community's acceptance and glorification of thuggish, gang-banger behavior that most of the rest of America finds reprehensible. Change starts from within, Ms. Butler. Maybe you should start pointing fingers in the right direction.

And you also have to wonder if we'd be at this point if it weren't for the likes of NBC editing the phone call to make Zimmerman sound racist.

I'm not about to deny that acts of racism take place in our society. I find it sad that we still have to deal with such things. But I'm tired of one side, and I'm not just talking about blacks, but any minority group, playing their card every single time regardless of what the facts say.

In this case specifically, there has been zero evidence that racism was an issue but some are still playing that card despite the facts. We, as a society, will never have an honest dialogue about such issues until one side stops claiming civil rights abuses about everything that happens against them. Sometimes, it's simply bad luck or wrong place wrong time. And by crying racism, it minimizes the effects of it when it truly, honestly happens.

The Zimmerman case has nothing to do with racism. Continuing to to claim it does, does nothing for the cause and is disgraceful.

And to my point.... DOJ still pursuing Civil Rights violations against Zimmerman.

He also criticized "Stand Your Ground" laws, but that's a separate debate

Lovely. How much time and money is the DOJ going to waste pursuing all the trumped-up "tips" they get from that?

Is Sanford, FL, which I'd never heard of, big enough to have "civil rights leaders"?

              What a freaking dog-and-pony show.

Stand Your Ground is bad. You could start a fight with someone. End up shooting and killing them (as long as there were no witnesses). Then claim self-defense based on the "Stand Your Ground" law.

I find it strange all the people who choose to wear signs or shirts saying, "I am Trayvon".

Trayvon was suspended from school multiple times for all kinds of reasons including being caught with drugs and what appeared to be a bag of stolen jewelry. He had photos of guns, marijuana plants, and himself exhaling what appears to be marijuana smoke. There are reports he attacked a bus driver and routinely engaged in fights.

Have these people wearing signs and t-shirts stopped for a moment to think about what they are saying about themselves or are they just too busy taking orders from their protest organizers?

Obviously not. Color of the parties is all that matters. Besides, those things you mention are what's expected of young black men these days so you can't hold it against him. Or at least, that is the message being sent.

No it not. The scenario you just painted can happen whether u have that law or not. Stand your ground is about a fundamental right for someone do defend themselves if their life is threatened. The stand your ground law was not even used in the Zimmerman as a defense.

Maybe not as a defense, but the jury used Stand Your Ground in their decision. At least according to the juror that was interviewed.

Royal, Sanford is basically a bedroom suburb of Orlando.

Well, then that person didn't understand what "Stand your ground" law is and how it was not relevant in this case. Zimmerman was pinned to the ground, unable to retreat and was being beaten - thus his lawyers knew they didn't need to use it as a defense.
