In fact, quite often I park over at the engineering building parking lots on game nights just for the walk.
It wasn't that they couldn't find a place, just that they couldn't find a place close to their classes, so they didn't have to walk far alone at night.

Gotcha. I'll admit back in college I was a creature of habit. So I tended to park in the same area, around the same time everyday. When that got disrupted by an event it initially made me irritable until THAT became the new normal. LOL

I think that's a lot of what happens, regarding parking comments at [every university on the planet] during sports events though. Students just get in a routine and when that routine gets interrupted they get a bit more edgy and start barking.

The shuttle would be a solution to that problem. If they don't want to deal with the shuttle, Campus Police will provide an escort.

They have all graduated, so no worries anymore. Thanks though. I don't know how much of that was available when they were in college.

One quick note before we present the rankings: With Wichita State’s move to the American Athletic Conference, the Shockers have moved out of the mid-major club. We wish the Shockers well against Cincinnati, UConn, SMU, and more.

                    • Might as well grab ITT Tech while they're at it. But I'd make them pay their own way for a year with a chance to earn a scholarship the next year.

                        • The WATC news kind of brings about a question that I have always had: Has WSU ever considered expanding their major offerings and/or adding additional colleges (I mean beyond adding a bunch of associates-level tech stuff with WATC)? I know such things are not free, but maybe Bardo is missing a major and obvious component to his (so far) failed plans of enrollment growth. If you want a business to grow, you likely need more financial inputs on the front end, if you know what I mean.

I'm no college administrator, but I've often thought that additional colleges for construction science/arch engineering/civil engineering as well as professional pilot/A&P bachelor program/aviation management (the last one there WSU used to offer, but it has disappeared) would be successful and appropriate ventures for WSU, including the new STEM thrust Bardo seems to have for the University. I know other schools in the KBOR already offer these majors, but there are redundancies all over the system in that regard. The aviation program stuff at a minimum should be available in the Wichita market, to say the least.

Learn How Virtual Reality is Changing Education

“Abi: Let me give a little background about YouVisit. We’ve been in the immersive technology business for over six years now. We started off with the mission to really give people the most realistic experience of a place or event possible without physically being there—so for us it’s really been a natural progression.”

“Abi: Before we get into that, we don’t see virtual reality as the next frontier in education—we see virtual reality as the next frontier period. It is really growing very quickly across many different industries. In terms of education, it’s growing in many different ways. It really touches everything from the student that is researching schools and learning more about how schools are different from one another, all the way to virtual reality experiences that place different people from all different parts of the world into the same classroom. It really creates a lot of opportunity throughout the life cycle of the students, whether they are looking to figure out which schools to apply to when they’re in school, and even after school, as it gives alumni the ability to stay connected and be part of the events that are happening on campus.”
