  • Why are there no mass public shootings or attack of any kind at the thousands of schools with armed teachers and staff?

Good point. Driver’s licenses should also be much more restrictive and require more testing (especially for old people) but politicians can’t lose votes even if it saves lives.

I am a huge supporter of term limits. Serving in Washington DC should be an honor, not a career.

Not only that, but there are no proposed red flag laws for drinking and driving. Their license gets suspended, but their cars are not taken. There are no background checks for someone with multiple DUIs purchasing a vehicle. Yet how many people are killed by drunk/impaired drivers?

If someone killed a family of four with a gun, it’s handled much differently and illicit a much different reaction than if someone kills a family of four with a car.

            Just food for thought.

            • What a bunch of unadulterated bullshit. Every time this happens, every single time, the left gets all sanctimonious and virtue signals to everyone, while the right trots out the same arguments and statistics they always use to defend their stance. All the while nothing changes at all. To save time, perhaps we should copy and save this entire thread, and in a couple of weeks or months, when it happens again, and it will happen again, we can just right click and paste. That will do 100% as much good as our leaders have done regarding these incidents.

It’s because the left uses it for their crusade on the 2nd amendment and the right wants to focus on mental health, which the left wants to ignore except to throw more drugs at it, which causes most of these anyways. Then there is the growing conspiracy theory fueled by many events (Vegas most notably) having questionable surrounding circumstances.

It’s not as simple as banning guns. Even if that did happen, that only effects law abiding citizens.

Change your Facebook profile pic if it helps you feel better. Until the root of issue is recognized, and it’s not the guns, nothing will change.

Unconstitutional. U.S. Term Limits, Inc. v. Thornton

Term limits were considered by our founding fathers and rejected. Reference Federalist Paper 53. Of course, if you feel strong enough you could do a constitutional amendment - but once you start doing that all kinds of anarchy will start happening.

46 shot, 6 killed in Chicago. 15 shot, 12 killed in Philadelphia. 3 shot, 4 killed in Baltimore. No tweets from Joe Biden. No press conferences from Chuck Schumer. No coverage from the fake news.

If anyone thinks that Biden's ideas (or other Federal government Leaders ideas) to stop selling 9 mm hand guns or some of the other ideas mentioned, they are kidding themselves. This problem goes a lot deeper than that. It deals with Social Media and attention getting, mental illnesses, drug issues, lack of family values, fatherlessness, just to name a few, and an overall lack of values for others, and life, in our culture.

                      • Gun Violence Archive (GVA) is a not for profit corporation formed in 2013 to provide free online public access to accurate information about gun-related violence in the United States. GVA will collect and check for accuracy, comprehensive information about gun-related violence in the U.S. and then post and disseminate it online.

I am curious as to how all of these can be predominantly blamed as a gun control based on legal access problem. How many of these guns do you think were modified, imported or sold illegally, which doesn’t seem to be the focus on gun law reform from the left?

Don’t get me wrong. The NRA is way too polarizing for my taste and like the ACLU and labor unions, fight wars that are contrived, but this chart is almost entirely empty of evidence to support the left arguments.

If guns were the problem, we would have a lot more killings. There are 300 million guns in the country. Having one doesn't change you into a murderer, obviously.

People on the left cannot accept truths of life, and also want power. In order to garner it, they must assign false assumptions and character flaws to their opponents, because their policies have not totally been accepted by the populace here. The truth is, a small % of people are flawed and can kill other people. It isn't a lot, but they are there. And it can't really be prevented 100%, but they can make vulnerable and emotionally hurt people believe it can and thus make them suceptible to their political rhetoric and garner votes. Guns are an obvious issue to exploit as it's very much a prime right vs left issue and they don't risk losing any of their side, but can pull some independents and republicans because of the emotional attachment and empathy towards innocent people losing their lives. No one wants this to happen, but there is not really a solution. And inaction is also a further wedge for the left to continue to drive.

Define the ban, and let’s pretend they are the sole weapon used in school shootings.

I think there's a reasonable argument that Uvalde could have been prevented if so. He didn't purchase the gun until he was legally able to do so. Even if the legal age was 21, that could have prevented this. These lone wolf school shooter types don't have connections to the street market that gang members have.
