WBJ - How much revenue Kansas earned in first year of sports betting
The state's share of revenue from its first fiscal year of legalized sports betting totaled $5.8 million — compared to the $58.7 million that was generated statewide in retail and online wagering.
A report from the Kansas Lottery breaks down revenues through fiscal year June 2023, with Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane bringing in $1.2 million in in-person sports betting revenue through its partner sportsbook FanDuel.
By comparison, FanDuel generated $25.4 million from online bets in the last fiscal year, according to the report.
The Kansas Lottery report shows nearly $1.7 billion in wagers were settled in Kansas in the last year. That breaks down into $75 million settled in person at the state's four casinos, and $1.6 billion wagered online.
Of the state's $5.8 million share, $4 million went into a fund aimed at attracting a professional sports team to Kansas; $922,000 into a state gaming revenues fund; $750,000 toward a white collar crime fund; and $102,000 to a fund combating problem gambling and addictions.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

The numbers are kind of interesting. In a perfect world for the casino, they book the exact same dollar amount on each side of every wager. With 10% juice it would equate (I think) to 5% of the total wagered.
5% of 1.67 billion is $83,500,000 but they show revenue of only $58,700,000 (not sure why BetMGM shows $0 revenue). I wonder how much of that is due to first year giveaways/let's see if we can turn you into a gambling addict promotions?
I highly doubt it's because the average KS bettor is a little better than average.
On 2nd thought, I'm sure the Chefs winning the Super Bowl had at least something to do with that.

I don't bet a lot. I started with $100 and am at around $1500 in my account. The Chiefs absolutely helped that.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

If I remember right, the starting max wager for a promotional/boosted bet is $50. DraftKings eventually bumped me up to $100 max with the occasional $250 max. They’ve since lowered me to $10 max with the occasional $25 max. I usually don’t even bother abusing the $10 maxes but I’ll play the $25 maxes. Example today: Jannik Skinner to win 3 sets to 0 was -160 straight odds but +100 boosted. I’ve never even heard of Jannik Skinner but I have no problem putting down $25 at +100. PointsBet has boosted odds today for the Utah/Florida game. They have the moneyline set at Utah -229 but they’re offering boosted odds of +200.
I’m probably a break-even bettor at best with normal lines but if the math is on my side I have no problem putting up whatever they’ll allow me to. I assume at some point the books will severely limit me or even shut down my accounts but I’ll take what they give me for now.
