Shortest early morning outside the dog has ever had. She peed, dumped and was back on the porch wanting in, in less than a minute.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

You see the young calves out in the pasture in spring grazing as they are born at the end of winter. Mid-February is usually 40 degrees warmer.

Topeka reported -21 at 7 a.m. today. FWIW, my weather app never got colder than -15. But there isn't any wind! I went out yesterday with our dog with the windchill -18/20 and it was okay. But yes, the duration of this is the worst part. Spring is close !

Tough part of the country to do that successfully. I'm guessing you also eschew pork. What do you do, regularly, for sustenance, if I may ask? You don't strike me as a vegan, or someone that is particularly interested in the culinary arts. If you aren't consuming beef or pork, don't do a TON of your own meal prep, what does the average menu for Cold look like? I get you can do fish, but in Kansas that's either difficult or really expensive.

                  Just curious.
                  I did.

                  Leonine - lion
                  Leporine - rabbit, hare
                  Lupine - wolf
                  Murine - rodent
                  Pavonine - peacock

                  Vulpine - fox

I eat a little fish, but haven't had sushi since the pandemic. Mostly chicken and turkey for protein.

I generally don't eat fried either.

Lots of deli sandwiches for lunch. Dinner usually has chicken. I love Italian, Indian, Mexican, etc.

                  I normally have 4 or 5 salads a week.

Stopped drinking soda 20 years ago also. I will have an occasional taste a couple times a year. 99% water consumption. I like black decaf coffee now and then.

Alcohol consumption has been very limited since the pandemic. I prefer dry red wines and wheat beers.

I don't meal prep. I've taken to eating quite a few frozen dinners during the pandemic which has been convenient, but also quite sad. The good news is, frozen food technology is far superior today than when I grew up. Trader Joe's has some really impressive frozen pasta dishes. Quite healthy too!

Actually, if it really got to -25 you probably got a decent hoarfrost which is an indication that the moisture was froze out of the air. That’s what makes the extreme cold up here tolerable, and even enjoyable. That, and I don’t wear any cotton. Cotton is a very poor insulator.

Chicks dig me because I rarely wear underwear, and when I do, it's usually something unusual
