SPC upgraded to MOD risk for central Kansas, also increasing the hatched tornado probabilities up to 15%.

Warm front continues to remain close to the Wichita and Hutchinson areas. If initiation occurs here, it could get quite interesting.

The cirrus anvils coming off of storms in Oklahoma are creeping closer which may suppress development if it doesn't happen soon enough.

Last I looked it appears that the line of storms that looked to be headed this way fizzled out and the rest stayed North. What a let down...

So what's on the docket for today? After this morning rain moves away, will more fire up this afternoon? I see a line forming out west. Is that along a dry line and what we can expect for later as it moves this way?

Expect your generic storms today. If we get some heating, we could get some isolated hail/wind threats. Tornadic conditions look pretty low today.

I was thrilled to get woken up at 7:00 this morning by some loud bolts. Haven't heard those things in a while!

Those are some great shots wsushox. Was that wind velocity data from the surface? If so, wow!

Tuesday has the attention of the SPC. Again with the way this year has gone, I'm gonna take it with a grain of salt, but here's some of their analysis..

Yea they were scan at .5 degrees.

SPC upgraded to a Day 2 moderate for Central OK, SC KS still in the slight risk.

Wednesday, from what I have seen, and I have been too busy to look closely, looks rather impressive.

Any time you have a S/SE LLJ of 50 KNTS there will be a decent tornado threat.

I assume you mean Tuesday, right?

But yah, those backed LLJ winds is a definite good thing if it comes to fruition.

Watching weather channel coverage of tornado that just leveled Joplin Missouri. Cant tell if it messed up part of town or all of it.

I know, from several experienced meteorologists that have public facbooks they are saying the damage is Greensburg-Tuscaloosa like. Has to be an extremely violent tornado for that to happen.

From what I have heard a mile wide tornado.

It looks like just part of the city was hit. That would be pretty devastating it it was the whole city. Joplin's population is around 250K-300K.
