Shocks drop a winnable game to Memphis on the road 61 -54.
Shocks shot only 34% from the field (27% in the 2nd half), shot 5-18 (27.3%) from behind the arc and topped that off with a 9-15 (60%) effort from the line (and that was with March draining 8-9).
According to the Eagle's account of the game Jody said she was getting nothing from her bench and in fact she didn't. However, she only played the bench a total of 19 minutes with Haleigh getting 9 of those and Jadhon not palying at all. The starters played 34, 35, 37, 37 and 38 minutes and apparently ran out of gas. At this point it appears Jody has lost confidence in her bench. Unfortunately, I don't think she has much choice but to play them more minutes to avoid having a very leg weary starting team down the road.
Memphis actually shot the ball a little worse than the Shocks overall but had 7 more attempts from the field and shot 10 more free throws because they won the rebound battle by 53-37 and turned the ball over 3 times less than the Shocks.
It will be interesting to see how the Shocks legs hold up tonight at 5:00 vs Jacksonville State. Surely, Jody will have to use the bench much more tonight that she did last night.
Shocks need to win this one before had back home for 7 straight games in Koch Arena.
