Did you happen to catch the Georgia's Kendall Williams passed until 5-6.5 and then cleared that easily on her 1st jump.

All three clear 5-3, Gavyn on her last jump. She seems not to believe it.

That was just short of her career best. If she clears the next height of 5-4.25 she will have a new PR.

Nikki just soared over 5-4.25 with good clearance.

Gavyn jumps 5-3 for 736 points.

Both Breanne and Nikki clear 5-4.25 for 771 points.

After two events, Nikki is ninth, Breanne is thirteenth and Gavyn is eighteenth.

The Shot Put is next and is scheduled to start at 530pm CT.

And that moment right there is EXACTLY why I, and so many of you I know, follow these sports. You can't take those moments away, and they are simply wonderful to watch and share.

Looks like Nikki is 9th, Breanne 13th and Gavyn 18th after two events.

Shot Put is up next if Kendall Williams ever quits clearing the high jump bar.

Breanne is the strongest of the Shocker trio with a PR of 13.42 (44 ft.). Gavyn's best is 12.99 (42-8) and Nikki's best is 11.98 (39-4) but both of those were indoors.

Breanne and Gavyn will be in Section 1 and Nikki will be in Section 2

It appears that their will be separate streams for each Section as they did for the high jump.

Yeah, all 3 of the Ladies seem to be enjoying the experience but I think Gavyin in particular is relishing the chance to compete in a National Championship event.

In the Shot Put, Gavyn had a distance of 40-8.75 for 688 points. This was the fifth best distance for the Shot.

Breanne was 38-4.75 for 641 points, and Nikki was 37-11.25 for 632 points.

After three events, Nikki is T9 and Breanne and Gavyn are T14. Nikki is nine points out of eighth place.

The 200M closes out the first day of the Heptathlon and is scheduled for 913 CT.

The 200M is run in three sections of eight runners. Breanne is in the first section followed by Nikki in the second section and Gavyn in the third. Three competitors have dropped out, so the first section will have seven runners and the second section will have six.

Nikki runs a 25.05 which is eighth overall. That earns her 882 points.

Breanne runs a 25.63 for 830 points and in the third section, Gavyn runs a 25.44 for 847 points.

At the end of the first day, Nikki is ninth, two points out of eighth. Gavyn is fourteenth and Breanne is fifteenth.

One more heptathlete was a DNS for the 200M, leaving twenty competitors.

The events on Saturday are the Long Jump, Javelin Throw and 800M.

Nikki acted like her leg was really bothering her after her heat. Injured legs and wet tracks usually don't mix well. Looks like rain for tomorrow's final 3 events.
Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

This season has been a struggle for Nikki. She apparently has dealt with a bad ankle in one leg and a hyperextended knee on the other. She clearly is not operating at her peak abilities. The Shocks have asked and received an awful lot for Nikki during her career but the wear and tear has definitely taken a toll on her.

I hope she can tough it for 3 more events in her outstanding Shocker career. Not sure what she has left to give but she has given more than enough already.

In the Long Jump, Gavyn jumped 18-4.25 for 726 points and Breanne jumped 18-2.5 for 715 points.

Nikki fouled on her first attempt and did not take her last two attempts. The nagging injuries talked about above may have forced her out of the competition.

Gavyn is fourteenth with 3892 total points and Breanne is fifteenth with 3864 points.

                                The Javelin Throw is next.

EDIT: Twitter says Nikki has withdrawn with an ankle injury.
