You sure that's today? It looks like Friday to me.....although I am really discombobulated lately.

Hunter is in 5th after the shot, 115 points out of the lead. High jump should be a strong event for him.

Doc, I have been following Hunter's progress on the men's sports forum.

It's the Shocker Ladies turn to take the stage for a couple of days as the Shocker Trio of Senior mulit-event athletes, Breanne Borman, Gavyn Yetter and Nikki Larch-Miller, compete in the heptathlon at the NCAA National Championships. Only Arkansas, with 4, has more representation in the event. Georgia has 2.

Much better representation from Non-P5 schools with 10 of the 24 competitors (compared to 6 in the Decathlon).

Good lead in article on the Shocker ladies in the Eagle.

The action gets started with the 100M hurdles at 2:30 CDT. This should be a good event for Nikki although she has battled right ankle and left knee issues this season. Hopeuflly, she can cap of her outstanding Shocker career with a good effort. Physically, Gavyn looks like a great athlete. Breanne really doesn't so much. Both are really tough competitors. Good luck to all 3 Ladies.

Breanne clocks in at 14.51 in the 100H good for 907 points. An okay but not great time. Breanne's PR is 14.08 set last year and she has run 14.13 this year.

Gavyn clocks in at 14.60 for 895 points. Again not a great time for her. She had a PR of 13.80 earlier this year.

Breanne's and Gavyn's times will be well down in the standings.

Nikki clocks in at 13.69 good for 1,023 points. That's a good time but not great by Nikki's standards. She holds the Shocker record at 13.08 set in 2015 but her best this year has been 13.40 due to her injury issues. Nikki's team is 5th best in this event.

The 100H of the Heptathlon begins in a light rain. As with the men, this is six sections of four runners each.

Breanne runs 14.51 for 907 points

Gavyn runs 14.60 for 895 points.

Nikki runs 13.69 for 1023 points.

Those are good for places 20, 21 and 5 respectively.

                  The High Jump is next.

                  And we crossed.

Next up is the high jump starting at 3:30 CDT. Breanne's best have been around 1.7m/5-6, Gavyn's best is around 1.6m/5-3 and Nikki is kind of in-between those two at her best (and I don't think Nikki is at her best).

The High Jump is in two flights which jump simultaneously in two adjacent pits. All of the Shockers are in Flight One.

In jump order, Gavyn is passing on the first height (as are all the competitors) and will begin at 4-9. Breanne is passing on the first five heights and will begin at 5-1.75. Nikki will begin one height lower at 5-0.5.

The rain appears to have stopped. Aww, I spoke too soon.

Oops, one heptathlete is beginning at the opening height of 4-7.75.

Unfortunately, the video is of the non-Shocker Flight Two.

Thanks! It was added after the 100H completed and after I first pulled up ESPN3.

All three Shockers have cleared 5-1.75, Nikki on her third jump. Gavyn was quite excited, so I suspect this is not her strongest event - that and the fact that she started at the second available height.
