Nervous girls, a couple of false starts. Great race but I think Taylor got nipped at the line...awaiting the results.

I was way off...It was Nikki who finished 2nd and Taylor 7th. 10 points each for ISU and WSU which I would say is a win for the Shocks.

Samantha Shukla picked up a point in the 1500. Man this is going to be close.

In the triple jump, Shanice Andrews for WSU and Carmelia Stewart for ISU switch form finishes going 2-3 and the Shocks pick up another few points.

Nice job by Shanice Andrews picking up 2nd place points in the triple jump edging out Indiana State's Carmelia Stewart, who finished 3rd, by 2 inches.

That's a flip-flop between those two from the form charts so that's another 2 point pickup for the Shocks.

Samantha Shukla finished 8th for the Shockers in the 1,500M run. Doesn't sound like much but every point counts in a meet this close and I'm sure Coach 'Bolt is very pleased with Samantha's effort. She only finished 0.01 seconds out of 7th.

Could have been a lot worse in the Discus with ISU getting 3 into the final. But a 12-5 point differential in form holds as Sadie Suernam gets 4th for WSU and ISU's favorite managed only 3rd.

In the discus the Shockers Sadie Suenram performed to expectations with a 4th place finish for 5 points. Indiana State finished 3rd, 5th and 7th for 12 points. However, coming in Indiana State looked slotted for a 1st and a 5th. So while the did pick up an unexpected 2 points for 7th they dropped 4 points by Mary Theisen finishing 3rd instead of 1st. Bottom line about as expected in this event.

ISU hurts us in the 400 but form and predictions are different....they had 2 finalists to our 0. They didn't win but picked up more than a few points.

ISU added 8 points in the 400. Hard to keep up at this point.

A little expected but it still hurts as ISU goes 1-3 and WSU 7-8 in the 100. 18-3 points and things are getting very interesting.

Doc, that is very much expected and I believe that is 16-3 in points.

Doesn't quite seem fair that the Decathlon and Hetathlon winners only get 10 points and the 100M winners get the same amount for about 10 to 12 seconds of action.

No entrants, no damage in the 800. Only 4 events left for the women.

That 400M looked like a great outcome for the Shocks. Natalie Morerod rocks.

                          Shocks go 1-3-5-7 to ISU's 4th in the 400H that's a 22-5 advantage!

Shocks are up 20 points with 3 events remaining (I think). Go Shocks!

The women are in great shape....Neither WSU or ISU have good 5k in fact ISU only has 1 entrant so we should be able to tactically eliminate her from scoring (although I don't think she's fast enough anyway).

The 200 is a 1-1 battle between Nikki and Katie Wise for ISU. Katie will probably win, but Nikki should keep it close. Then it's down to the 4X400 where there shouldn't be much difference. Shocks are in GREAT shape!

If Nikki Larch-Miller wins the 200, you're probably looking at the MVP of the event.

EDIT: Wise wins and Nikki gets 3rd.

WSU leads by 16 with only 2 events left. Mathematically ISU is alive, but it would take a top 3 finish by the lone Tree runner to even make the 4X400 matter and that IS NOT going to happen.

WSU will return to the top of the Valley in women's track and field.

                                Congrats!
