Shockers 8-3 Illinois

A very nice win for the Shocks against a notable opponent. Alison gave up nine hits and a walk with only one strikeout. A nice outing for a freshman in her first start.

Two hits for Sydney, Bailey, and Jessica among the ten hits for the Shockers. There were homers by Neleigh, Bailey, Lauren, and Addison.

Nice win for the Shocks. Sounds like Illinois may have decided to hold back their top 2 arms for their two games vs Arkansas this weekend. That didn't work out so well.

Alison was not dominating by any means but she brought her hard hat and her lunch pail today and got the job done with room to spare. Only 1 strikeout but she only gave up one free pass and her defense played errorless ball behind her. Alison also kept the ball in the park with the exception of 6th inning solo homer. Well done young lady.

Good to see contributions from not only the big 3 at the top of the order but also from the bottom half with Bailey Urban and Lauren Lucas going yard.

Good start to the weekend.

Arkansas revised the tournament schedule, yesterday? It looks like the LS links got messed up in the process. If I go to the Longwood schedule, the LS link for this game points to their game against Arkansas tomorrow. Let me see if I can find a phone number to holler at.

This is the Longwood ace we are up against.

The Shocks gave up a run in the bottom of the third. Double, wild pitch, wild pitch. Still batting. With two outs, a walk and stolen base. A single scores another run. Then a hit batter. A groundout ends the inning. 2-0 Longwood after three.

1-2-3 for the Shockers. Only one hit to this point.

With two outs, a single, wild pitch, and error puts Lancers at the corners. Jordyn is on in relief. She gets an easy out - a runner left early. 2-0 after four.

Krystin doubles to start the fifth and, one out later, Sydney ties the game with a homer. 2-2 and on to the bottom of the fifth.

A walk and a passed ball with one out puts a runner in scoring position, but Jordyn enduced two groundouts. 2-2 after five.

Lainee entered in the bottom of the fifth to catch.

Lancers get a one-out single and then a two-out single. A groundout ends the inning.
