Florida State won game 1 of the best of 3 Championship series on Tuesday by an 8-4 score.

Florida State lead game 2 yesterday 2-1 after 5 innings. In the top of the 6th OU took a 3-2 lead on a throwing error by the FSU shortstop followed by a Jocelyn Alo home run. That was followed by consecutive singles that plated two more runs to make OU 5 - FSU 2. OU tacked on another run on 3 singles in the top of the 7 and then closed out the 6-2 win. Giselle Jaurez went the distance for the Sooners allowing only 4 hits.

In today's Championship Series finale OU leads 5-1 on solo home runs by Jocelyn Alo in the 1st and Jayda Coleman in the 2nd plus the Sooners added 3 in the bottom of the 3rd on only 2 hits and all with 2 outs with 1 run scoring on a wild pitch and 2 more on a Jayda Coleman double. Giselle Juarez is back in the circle for the Sooners in today's game and through 5 innings has held the Seminoles to 1 run on 2 hits. The score remains 5-1 OU after 5 full innings.

FSU & OU both down in order in the 6th.

FSU can only manage a 2-out walk in the 7th and OU is the 2021 NCAA National Champion.

OU has tremendous lineup and Jocelyn Alo deserves to be Player of the Year, but Giselle Juarez has to be the WCWS MVP in my opinion. Jaurez was 8-0 in the NCAA Tournament this year including back-to-back complete games win to close out the Championship. What a way to end a college career.

Another item of some interest is that Jocelyn Alo is only the 5th player to win a Player of the Year award and a National Championship in the same year. However, she is the 1st non-pitcher to do so.

For much of the year, the Sooners had to outhit their pitching. See Game One of the Championship Series where it did not happen. They never seemed to know who their ace was. But when it really counted, G Jaurez stepped up and gave them the performance in the circle they needed.
