Hopefully, the Shocks good play from yesterday has some carryover benefits. The need to come down out of the clouds after the big win over OSU and not have a big letdown against UTSA and Kansas City. Both teams, while not at the level of OSU, appear to be decent teams that are certainly capable of beating the Shocks.
Erin McDonald in the circle for the Shocks first game today against UTSA. UTSA is he home team in this one.
A interesting start for Erin in the bottom of the 1st. A walk, a stolen base and a single put runners at first and 3rd for UTSA with no outs. Erin escaped the jam by striking out the next 3 batters.

I think Butters has now caught Addison for the team lead in home runs this season with 8.
I figure that the 27 games that the Shocks played last year before the season was cancelled knocked 30 games off of the season for Butters. So I figure whatever career totals Butters has through 30 games this season are totally legit. Perhaps anything she accumulates after that might deserve an *.

UTSA scored in the bottom of the 3rd and a lead off walk followed by a triple (Beep Beep. A strike out followed but Then with the count 1-2 on the next batter Live Stats locked up or were abandoned.
No updates beyond that point on twitter either which maybe are based on the live stat info.
Nothing on the radar to indicate any weather issues.
Update per Shocker Twitter: They are experiencing some technical difficulties in Stillwater related to live stats.
Picking up where the live stats went down with UTSA hitting in the bottom of 3rd with one run in and a runner on 3d and no outs. Erin got out of the inning without additional damage with 2 strikeouts and a fly ball to right.
Looks like he Shocks scored what proved to be the winning run in the top of the 6th on a lead off walk to Camryn, a sac bunt by Kaylee followed by a walk to Wylie with the run delivered on a single by Sydney with Wylie going to 3rd and Sydney taking second on the throw to the plate. The Shocks had a great opportunity to expand the lead with 2 RISP and Addison and Butters due up but they both struck out the end the at with the Shocks holding on to a 3-2 lead.
The Shocks picked up an insurance run in the top of the 7th on a lead off single by Neleigh, a sac bunt by Ryleigh and a 2-out RBI single by Kaylee.
Erin went 4.2 innings allowing 1 run on 3 hits while walking 3 but striking out 8. Bailey L pitched the final 2.1 innings giving up 1 run on 1 hit plus 3 walks.
Too many walks. UTSA first run was the result of a walk followed by a triple. Their 2nd run in the 6th scored on a bases loaded walk. That run came on an infield single, a hit by pitch and two walks.
Looks like the Shocks faced UTSA's top 2 pitchers in this game in Hernandez and Gilbert as per the preview by @flyingMoose
All in all though another good win for the Shocks.

Caitlyn Bingham in the circle for the Shocks against KC. Shocks are the visitors.
Shocks take the lead with 3 in the top of the 3rd on an 2-out double to center by Cam Compton and a 2-out, 2-run infield single by Kaylee Huecker.
The Shocks got in and out of big trouble in the bottom half of the 3rd. An error and a single gave UTSA runners and a double gave KC a run with 1 out. A walk loaded the bases. Not exactly sure what happened next but the way I interpret the live stats report it sounds like the batter grounded to Sydney at shortstop who tagged out the runner on 2nd and then threw out the runner on third trying to score for a very unusual 6-2 double play to end the inning. Shocks lead 3-1 after 3 innings.
A quiet 4th inning. Caitlyn retired KC on 5 pitches in he bottom of the 4th.

I think you are exactly right. With the bases loaded and the infield in, Sydney was able to tag the runner going to third and still get the ball to Butters for another tag (no longer a force at the plate.) I hope this one makes the Twitter feed.
A 1 out error by the 3rd baseman opened the door for a 5 run 5th for the Shocks capped off by an Addison Barnard 3-run homer to center as the freshman continues her very productive start to her Shocker career.
You don't want to give this Shocker team any openings. They seem to enjoy making you pay.
In the bottom half of the inning Caitlyn gave up back-to-back 2 out singles but induced a pop up to 2nd to end the inning.
Shocks lead 8-1 after 5 complete.
Nothing doing for the Shocks in the top of the 6trh. A lead off walk followed by a home run to left makes it 8-3 after 6 complete.
Shocks tack on another run in the top of the 7th on a lead off single by Kaylee and a 2-out double for Addison to left center.
3 up, 3 down for Caitlyn in the 7th to close out the 9-3 win.
Another solid performance for Caitlyn. Hopefully, she this shows she is getting things figured out.

Me too, but not sure there is an video available on this one to pull a clip from.

With the runner far enough off second to be tagged and with the runner on third delaying long enough to still get a tag at home, this almost had to be one-hop smash that one runner saw was going to be down and the other runner hesitated before breaking for the plate.
Okie State knocked of UTSA 11-2 in five innings. Hayley Busby, the OSU right fielder whose shaky fielding helped the Shocks but who also hit a 2-run homer into the wind against the Shocks on Thursday, was the DP today going 3-3 including 2 home runs and 5 RBI.
OSU is now playing KC. The Live Stats show they are playing Wichita State but if they are I have never heard of any of the players listed in the lineup. So far Oklahoma State treating this tournament like it is somewhat of a nuisance to them. Logan Simunek, the starter against the Shocks is starting this game for the Cowgirls. MIa Hoveland is pitching for Wichita State (or Kansas City if you are into accuracy).
Kansas City d/b/a Wichita State is leading 3-0 after 2 innings.
Both teams score 3 in the 4th. The Kansas City Shockers till lead by 3 runs at 6-3. So the game is similar to the OSU-WSU game to open the tournament. Simunek had allowed 6 runs but only 1 is earned as OSU has committed 3 errors so far. Mattison Boyd is on in relief of Simuek.
Kansas City holds on to knock of the Cowgirls 6-5.

Simunek gives up all six runs - only one of which was earned. Deja vu all over again.
Bailey is in the circle. BaileyU is in left field for the only change in the rest of the lineup. Estell, not one of the two starters with three starts, is the pitcher for UTSA.
The Roadrunners start with a single, stolen base and walk, but a strikeout and 4-6-3 DP ends their threat. The Shocks go down in order. 0-0 after one.
The Shockers load the bases in the second on singles by Ryleigh and Bailee and a walk to Kaylee. With two outs, an infield single by BaileyU drives in two runs (the ball trickles into short center field?). Shocks lead 2-0 after two.
Another three-up, three-down inning for the Roadrunners. A walk to the Shocks but no runs score. 2-0 after three.
In the fourth with two outs and one on, a single, walk, and single score a run for UTSA. A single and walk for the Shockers but no runs. Sydney is in a mini-slump - 0 for 3 today. 2-1 after four.
UTSA loads the bases in the fifth with a walk and two singles (interspersed among two outs), but Bailey gets a come-backer to end the inning.
