But I understand your dillema. Fortunately, we're going to both.
I have a chance to have tickets for Saturday, and who knows how often that chance will run along?

With that knowledge, at the risk of being net-bombed by Wu and Spangler, I'd take the b-ball tickets and make up for it by attending two VB games next year or a NCAA regional at Koch this year! (We can hope!)

Back to the attendance discussion . . .

If we can get 4900, that would jump WSU two spots, based on Texas' and Stanford's current numbers. Obviously, their's would change if they have home games this week, but I just wanted to point out that 7th is attainable.

We need about 3600 to pass Stanford's current average for 8th.

What would 8000 do for the attendence, or is 7th the best case scenario?

It would take about 7900 to overtake 6th and about 8300 to reach 5th.

Keep in mind we played KSU on a Saturday, a buy-1-get-1-free promotion, around 1500 KSU fans and we managed 6000 total (meaning 4500 WSU fans).

I think 5000 is a worthy goal. 6000, on a night with HS football (I think 5A and 6A are playing, right?) would be awesome!

I bought 100 tickets a little bit ago. The person before me bought 75 (according to the person at the ticket window). I have already given away about 10 tickets.

How about a goal? There were about 1300 tickets sold (including season tickets) when I got my tickets. Let's make the following goal:
End of day Monday: 2000 tickets sold
End of day Tuesday: 3000 tickets sold
End of day Wednesday: 4000 tickets sold
End of day Thursday: 5000 tickets sold
End of day Friday: 10,400 tickets sold
              :D :goshocks: :goshocks: :goshocks: :goshocks:

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

The walk-up sales will be huge. Being out of town, that's really my only option (I'm not paying more for service fees than what the tickets actually cost!)

Apparently students cannot pick up tickets until the gates open. If we have a strong turnout of students, they will have to get in line for tickets at 6PM on Friday. Some of them might buy a ticket to avoid the wait. A huge line might discourage the walk-up crowd. ??

I hear ya there. Look at the fees with ticket marketplace sometime as well.

I just checked. If I purchase four, $1 tickets I'll pay $9 in service fees.

How about if local VB fans meet out-of-towners at 5:30PM on Friday at the CAC/RSC. We could pick up tickets for you (... why, I have some right here ...) and give them to you then? Why waste $9?

                          That's a cool gesture.

For myself, being out-of-town means we'll be fortunate to get there by 6:00. 6:30 if I end up bringing a friend (or two) that won't get back to Buhler from work in McPherson until 5:30.

If you end up with 4-6 extra (I should know if it's 4 or 6 by Thursday), maybe we could work something out.

This just in! Now that the Shocker VB team is ranked in the Top 25, admission to Saturday's Men's Basketball Exhibition game will require not only a ticket to that game, but proof of attendance at the Shocker VB match on Friday. The scanning machines will be able to verifty if you at least entered the arena for the VB match on Friday.

                            :good:

Just kidding, but this might be the only way we could get a sell out!

                            :D

Absent that I think a crowd in the 5,000 range is definitely doable if we the match is adequately publicized. I have not seen nor heard much yet in this regard (other than SF316's yeoman efforts).

I did e-mail about 50 people this morning about what a great match and a great deal this should be. And I will be buying a bunch of tickets as soon as I can zero in on how many users I can find.

Regarding the walk up ticket sales, if I was in charge, I would print a big batch of tickets in advance and have about 10 people selling them in the ticket lobby. I've seen them do this to a lesser degree with GA tickets at the Baseball Games when the ticket window lines have gotten very long.
