From his comments it sounds like he thinks [Jordan Roberts] is already D-1 ready.
From a couple minutes of the clip I linked to above, Jordan was setting a pretty quick offense - a lot of sets half the length of the net and not much higher than the net. I suspect that skill is not real common among freshman setters. She also had one high set to the outside and one back set. I don't recall seeing her dump the ball, but I didn't watch all of the one clip or a any of the other game clips that you can find for her.
WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita native Jody Larson has transferred from Oklahoma to Wichita State to continue her volleyball career.
Jody played in 58 sets as a freshman for OU but her playing time diminished to 28 sets last year as a sophomore. She is eligible to play for the Shockers immediately and is currently enrolled at WSU for the Spring Semester.
Does anyone know why she played in 30 fewer sets as a sophomore than as a freshman? The three obvious possibilities are that she could have been injured, another player came back from injury, or she was "recruited over".
Regardless, she sounds like a talented player who I'm sure Lambo will get the most out of.

In looking at the roster and stats for OU's outside hitters the last two years it appears to me that Jody most likely fell prey to a transfer coming in and beating her out. Kimmy Gardiner, a 6-1 OH out of the Dallas metro area, transferred to OU last year from Mississippi State. In Volleyball you can transfer once from one D-1 school to another without sitting out a year. That is why Jody Larson is immediately eligible at Wichita State.
Gardiner was an AVCA All-Region First Team and All-America Honorable Mention as a freshman two years ago at Mississippi State. She stepped into the starting lineup at OU and played in all 120 sets OU played last year. She was 3rd in kills, 4th in service aces and 4th in blocks on an OU team that seemed to rely more on their middles for scoring.
My guess is the addition of Gardiner is the primary reason for Jody's reduced playing time. Also OU's top outside hitters this year who got the bulk of the playing time consisted of 2 Sophs and 1 Junior so Jody probably did not think her prospects for playing time next year were very good either.
She will have to earn her playing time at Wichita State as well. It is not like Lambo's cupboard is bare when it comes to outside hitter prospects considering he has Ashlyn Driskill, MaryAshton Floyd, Mikaela Raudsepp, Jenny Whitledge, Katy Dudzinkski, Shimen Fayad, Kara Maleski and Jaclyn Roddy potentially coming back next year. I'm assuming Katie Reilly will stay in the middle.
If everyone on this year's roster returns except our lone senior, Kristin Byers, plus Jody Larson and the 4 incoming freshman who signed in the fall Lambo will have a roster of 26 players next fall. It is very difficult for me to believe that some of these players won't be looking for playing time elsewhere but we will see. It is really quite amazing to see a roster of that size in a head count sport that only has 12 scholarship spots and substitution rules that make it difficult to work the reserves into the lineup. That said, I certainly have not seen any signs of chemistry issues on Lambo's teams.
