The Shocks are definitely moving up in weight class this weekend in Provo, Utah. They take on West Virginia on Friday at 4:00 pm, #1 ranked Stanford on Saturday at 11:00 and host #9 BYU at 8:00 pm on Saturday (all times CDT).
Clearly Friday's match with West Virginia will be the best opportunity to pick up a win this weekend. WVU opened the season at home last week going 2-1 with wins over Georgia Southern (3-1) and UConn (3-0) and a loss to Wright State (1-3).
Stanford's and BYU's rankings pretty much speak for themselves although it is quite early in the season. However, these are two perennial powers in volleyball.
Stanford picked up sweeps over American (14, 16, 19) and Howard (16, 22, 15) last week,
BYU opened the season with a pair of wins on the road over Duke (3-0 and 3-1).
A very challenging weekend to say the least and state the obvious.
