Has anybody ever been a Vegas on a slot machine? You hit the big one! The red light is twirling and the machine can't pay you your loot. Hark, here comes the folk that can help your wallet get thicker and suddenly, Uncle Sam wants to know all about you!!!. Likewise, even FSF knows it would be a crap-shoot to land Noel here at 21st and Hillside. It could happen, and I hope it does. That would be like Shocker magic.
The year we made it to the Sweet 16, we were prevailing from a few good recruiting years in a row, A Center that was having a banner year, and a team that got hot at the right time. Hot enough to beat Seton Hall easy, and hot enough to show Pearl how the cow ate the cabbage. Orange ya glad? I am, because Tennessee got very, very lucky, or we play Mr. Marshall, and have to break his heart!!!
Instead, we took care of those lucky Volunteers. It was a thumping of Tennessee for Shockerland and HCGM don't ya see? Tennessee was making "Miller Time" into a bloody mess, but we Got-em and we beat them good. Here was their problem. It was their scouting report that failed them. They were too worried about Miller Time. PJ lit them up like a Christmas tree baby!!! He was on fire-reee. We had so many weapons back then. SO was shooting lights out versus Seton Hall the game before. KB hit some big shots that year. KW was always a threat. MB hit several shots in the Creighton home win that helped us win the Valley.
My point is this. There is more then 1 way to skin a cat. Remember Coach T's first year here? Yikes!!!!!!! This may all take some time to go where we Shockers want to go. We may never sign Noel, but I will never give up hope until he goes elsewhere. Then I will follow his career only because he has black, gold and yellow running through his veins. However, I also wanted Taj Grey reeeeal bad. He went with Steve Eck at a Juco and then on to Oklahoma instead. We were in the Su-weet 16 and Oklahoma was NOT, Taj's senior year. My point is this. We now have THE Coach. He is already bringing us some dandy recruits that have game. Give us at least 7 years with this Coach and then with this Shocker Program---- just raise that bar a notch or 2 more!!!!!!!
But wait---if we will have our day in the sun and Dance again--do I want Pearl again? How about KU or K-Stae playing us because they have NO CHOICE? Ohhhh-- this would all be fun. However, I have another team I desire to play. It is a team who's Coach just said "they are bored right now and need some competition." Yes indeed. Coach T. inherited a gold mine of talent. You all ready for this??? When we go back someday---and re-visit the Su-weet 16---let's just play Texas A&M. MT and DB----we got something for ya baby!!!!!!!Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Hey Doc---you are getting more aggresive with your scripts for me. I think the de-caff you normally prescibe is all I need for now. However, when we go Dancing again some fine day---I may need a stronger dose. TY for your concern. :wsu_posters:Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.
