At first I thought our little recruiter was at it again, but it wasn't.

When I saw his brother literally run behind the WSU bench at the first time out and pull a kid that was a WSU fan out of the crowd to come sit with he and Johnny over by the Drake bench I about snapped. The whole glamore rock, Hollywwod ... drama Queen buelllshyte is not what Drake is about anyway. As a fan I'm not sure I want a 19 year old kid whose 33 year old brother does all his talking for him ... I have serious reservations as to whether I believe Johnny is a good fit for Drake.

The visit was great. The game was also a great one as well. Drake is a first class place and has MOSTLY first class fans. I do think it's a little ridiculous to make negative comments about Johnny or anyone else from our family based on who we sat with for a few minutes. To explain the situation: I coached WSU freshman Garrett Stutz last year in high school. I am still close to his family and we have mutual friends and I just don't see how it's a big deal to sit with a friend or family member from someone I coached in high school regardless if they are on the opposing team. I sat for 15 minutes with a "Stutz fan" who was never a Shocker fan until Garrett came to Wichita State. My friend never clapped for WSU, never said a negative thing about Drake and was only at the game to watch Garrett. After saying hi to Johnny and watching about 15 minutes of the first half with our family the "guy in question" went back to his seat. If Johnny comes to Drake and when they play Wichita next year and when I want to sit with a member of the Stutz family or a mutual friend of ours for a few minutes I guess you bulldog fans will have to just live with it.
