I'm nervous around decision time for any of the recruits we want. I'm not pessimistic about Johnny however. It appears we have a 50/50 chance. That's great odds when it comes to recruiting.

His brother posted that Johnny had originally set a "decide" date of the 10th, but once brother looked at the schedule, thought it might be a good idea to see WSU and Drake side-by-side so to speak and then taking a few more days to make the final decision. (See rc20's post of 1/7/09 on this thread). So this may not come down until mid-week. We'll see.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say he'll be a Shocker. Too much adulation in two sports to pass up along with a trip to the NBA or Majors.

I think Johnny is mature enough to realize his chances of playing in the NBA or the Major Leagues are a long shot.

I think he wants to progress in both sports and enjoy the competition and challenges of progressing in those sports.

There is a lot that can be learned in sports - definitely discipline, teamwork, and hard work - that are valuable traits in whatever an athlete does after college - or even after HS.

Johnny's family values teaching. Johnny's decision will likely include the coaching staff or staffs that would best develop his ability to teach others how to excel at things he enjoys doing.

I wouldn't call Johnny a long shot to play in the majors, he was drafted out of the high school in the 7th round. That will probably accumulate to a top 3 round pick out of college.
