His offers out of HS were limited due to his academic troubles. He's had time at JC's to rectify the problems. With interest from so many D-1 at this time, they probably think, or at least hope he has taken care of the classroom side.

He's seen the Shocker's play but I believe that in part it's due to him be so close to WSU while at JC. I've gotten the opinion that his interest is elsewhere.

I've been friends with him on Facebook for a while now, and he is kind of a thug. Probably a good kid to stay away from.

Well luckily we don't judge everyone based on being friends on Facebook.

I know Robert well. And while I don't know everything he does in his personal time and on the weekends, I can tell you that you couldn't ask for a better kid. He is very polite and seems to have his head screwed on straight.

I have my fingers crossed that he will be a Shocker! We could only hope to be so lucky.

As a word of caution, if we judged a lot of people by what they write on Facebook or other venues, we can say that about a lot of people. However, what people may say on Facebook or elsewhere are not truly indicative of their personality for the most part. So, I would not be so quick to judge.

Since ShockerFan knows him, seems like his opinion is the one to take. Got to go along with what Txlen said about Facebook.

I've read countless articles and comments about Robert and have come away with the impression he is a a good guy, just not a high achiever in the classroom during high school. Some thought he could never make it in college. I take it that he is showing they were wrong.

The Shockers remain in the hunt for Goff. The four week open period starts today and we are one of several schools who will see him work out in Hutchinson this afternoon. Perhaps a good indicator that he is very high on our want list.

Others seeing Goff this week include Indiana, Auburn, Iowa State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Ohio State. Houston and South Florida are also very involved.

In the above mentioned article Texas and Western Kentucky might also be dropping in. Goff is in the process of setting up visits. More than likely he will sign in November.

He would be a huge get for the Shockers. With him, I would definitely expect our 2011-12 team will again be very strong.

BTW, I saw sometime back the Indiana board was calling him the number 1 JUCO prospect for this year. I don't know where they got that, but it is very possibly true.

On this Rivals page he's rated a 3-star. We're not mentioned as one of his college choices, but I don't know how old the list is.

His offers are from Auburn, Houston, Indiana, Okahoma, Oklahoma State, with interest from Kansas and Texas.

Here is a July article where his recruiting advisor said that we have offered. It's not the first time Rivals leaves our offer off their listing.

Although it's not very far away, since we are going to Hutchinson on the first day of the open period, I think the staff believes they have a chance. He has visited WSU at least once, maybe more.

We can't look that bad to him. There's going to be PT available right away for him as the only returning PF we'll have will be Hamilton. And he'll get to play with 2 seven footers which has to at least be intriguing. If we get him or not who knows, but I can see where we'd be attractive to a guy like him.

I don't know if Marshall was there today or assistants but Tom Crean was. Where a coach goes on opening day tells a lot. Rivals' three star or whatever, Goff is expected to have an immediate impact wherever he goes.

The big question is whether we will see a Steve Eck coached player end up at Wichita State.

He visited Oklahoma last weekend and Iowa State is a maybe for this weekend. Trips to Ohio State and Indiana are set for the near future. The only good I see on this is he has already been to WSU and since he is so close he doesn't need an official to visit again.

This weeks' visitors to the Shockers included Robert Goff according to Rivals. Very Good news.
