Rivals has his visit to Ohio State set for next weekend and Indiana on 10/2. Perhaps Iowa State is out of it with no visit date since he came to WSU instead of them.

Rivals has all five schools, WSU, Indiana, Ohio State, Iowa State and Oklahoma listed as high interest.

Pretty easy to see why he'd choose OU. Plenty of available playing time and all the tickets you want for friends, family or profit.

Same as Tolbert, I wonder if a coaching change will influence where he ends up next year.

Could be. I thought of Goff when Marshall named Oklahoma first when listing off schools where players might need to find another school because of a coach being fired. During Capel's tenure I remember recruits mentioning the relationship they formed with Capel as a reason they considered Oklahoma. Probably nothing to it however. Marshall was actually talking about the two diferent types of coaches, ones that get fired and those that get mentioned for other jobs. Interesting just the same.

If Goff is looking, it was clear from the mentioned conversation that we have not talked to him as of yet. That doesn't rule out information being passed between our coaching staff and those in Goff's orbit.

Can we talk to him after a LOI?

Marshall was asked a similar question. He never said yes or no, but talked about talking to AAU, high school coaches, ect. I think you probably don't unless he contacts you. If he doesn't you wait until the release to make direct contact. Through the recruit's contacts you will probably know if he is interested.

I hadn't heard of this guy until today.

One of our players told me today that we might get him.
So apparently there has been some thought and discussion going on about this kid.

Just for reference, here is my assesment of Goff from one game in early January that I pulled from the Carl Hall topic:

I went to the HCC vs. Seward game last night and saw Robert Goff play. He reminded me a lot of Gabe Blair but with a little less explosiveness. He was a decent defender and rebounder and passes fairly well out of the post.
In other words he is somewhere between Blair and Durley in style of play. He's not going to step out and take 18+ foot jumpshots but he does have a presence in the lane and can provide high quality depth in both post spots. If Stutz doesn't progress into next year, Goff is capable of being our starting center, should he come here.

Reading a couple of the OU boards it seems they are split on Goff. A few would still take him but others (some who have watched him play) don't believe he's Big 12 caliber and think it would be a good thing for OU if he asks for a release from his LOI.

Having only seen one game, I would say he's not a guy that a power-conference team would want to depend on for 10 points a game. But I think he would still be an upgrade in the post for a bottom-level Big 12 team, which OU is right now.

I will say this, if he were to come to WSU, EO will likely never be more than a 10-15 minute-per-game backup here, as Goff is good enough to demand 25-30 mpg.
