Vouyoukas is a 6-9, 215 lb. forward from Blairstown (NJ) Blair Academy. He signed a letter of intent with Davidson in the fall but failed to meet Davidson's academic requirements. Vouyoukas is originally from Greece and played on a Greek club team last year. He played in the Big Apple Basketball Scholarship Games this past weekend, which features the top 40 unsigned high school seniors in the New York City area. In his game, he scored 17 points and grabbed 19 rebounds along with 4 blocks and 4 assists. Rivals and Scout 2 stars. Schools currently recruiting him include Western Kentucky, North Texas, Loyola-Chicago, Loyola (Maryland), East Carolina, Wright State and Wichita State.

He is described as a Complete Euro Forward. His brother Ian plays for St. Louis.
He has plenty of international experience and maturity that many freshman don't have.
From the Charlotte Observer:
The 6-foot-8, 225-pound Vouyoukas played last season at Blair Academy in New Jersey, after coming from Greece. He was the only commitment Davidson had received this school year. He said Charlotte was among the schools he was considering, along with North Texas and Loyola (Md.). "I know Charlotte has a good team," he said. "That could be a good option for me."
Davidson, after an elite 8 run, now has ZERO new recruits at this point for next year.

Ian is indeed Alex's brother. Ian graduated in '07 from St. Louis and now plays professionally in Greece. Ian holds the Bilikens' school record for career blocked shots.
The message boards for the Charlotte 49ers had a post from the Observer reporter. Apparently, Vouyoukas was interested in Charlotte but the interest wasn't mutual. I'll update the school list in the original post to reflect that.
And yes, Davidson is down to 10 scholarship players with no incoming recruits next year.
