He had offers from Wichita State, Navy, Coalgate, Lehigh and Wofford.
He heard from Big 12 schools Oklahoma and Texas Tech.
He averaged 18 ppg, 13 rpg, and 6 bpg as a senior.
"Patterson’s first goal is to stay healthy this season. He broke both of his wrists and fractured his elbow last year after getting a late start because of an investigation over his residency."

    What the heck?
He probably had some questions on residency in his school district.

Has anyone seen how much he weighs

        Colorado listed him at 225.

Currently Patterson has offers from Colorado, Wichita State, Rice...
You think Coach Gross knows about him?

I scanned over the boxscores and came to the following conclusions (and since he was a Fr. off the bench, may not be worth much).

Turnover and foul-prone, compared to minutes played.
Not a good shooter and takes too many 3's.
Can rebound and block a few shots.

Now, can someone provide some much more valuable eyewitness testimony?
            Royal,
Your observations are irrelevant because goshocks has already endorsed him as the next Dirk Nowitski so we can all rest easy.
It's amazing how one can look at a single internet post on a transfer and decide he is 'The One' we gotta have. Wow. 8)

Hopefully he's not soft like Dirk. In the dallas-New Orleans game, David West got slap him (literally) around when he wanted.

Sounds kinda like Orupke's backup plan, no?

I'm not sure how great of a backup plan this would be though. I'm trying not to make definite comments either way as I don't recall a ton about him other than we were recruiting and he was tall. But he wasn't the type of player to come in and be a big contributor right away. Which obviously he didn't do at CU.

But I'd rather take my chances with Ehimen.

I'm not against having 3 seven footers on the roster. If coach thinks he will pan out, then we all need to trust him. Plus I'm not sold on Orupke ever stepping foot stateside.

I really can't believe that people are saying pass on a 7 footer when we've had so many big guys in the past 10 years. Outside Paul Miller, we had ... Troy Mack? Willie Davis? Darrin Williams? Ryan Bradley? None were 7 feet tall. I'd take one even if he only played 10 minutes a game. Guys that big tend to clog things up, plus it would be nice to have a 7 footer come in for a 7 footer, instead of what appear to be the options for next year. Take out 7 footer and in comes Durley at 6'7"?

There is a big difference in a 7' basketball player and a 7' frog.
Do you really want to take another drive down Darren Dugger Avenue?
                      I didn't think so. 8)

I didn't know Bzdelik has a history of running-off players at CU.

These are 2 stories about former WSU recruit Kalvin Bay who was forced out.

After watching most of the Big 12 action from the end of the bench, Patterson decided it will be in his best interest to transfer to another program. He will visit Northern Illinois, Missouri State, Texas-Arlington and possibly Wichita State in the coming weeks looking for a new basketball home.

Given the options of accepting Patterson (sits out a year, plays for 3) or waiting another year for Orukpe, I'd rather wait for Orukpe.

Either way we'd only have 12 scholarship players available next year.
