Agreed. I'm guessing the EO saga is the reason Patterson might "possibly" visit Wichita State in the coming weeks.

The CU coach obviously does not like Ricardo Patton's recruits for one reason or another. Perhaps they don't measure up to his standards, and he doesn't want to be saddled with them for 3-4 years.
Patterson sounds like a project with a '?'. Workig with the team for a year, and then it might still be questionable. 1.4 ppg is pretty weak for a 7 footer even on short minutes.

go: I don't know what we'll do, but I would not be surprised at all to see us sign two more, whether it be AV, Patterson, or one of the other offers we reportedly have outstanding.
Despite many misgivings about current players with eligibility remaining leaving the program by some of our posters, I think the mass exits you've seen from places like St. Louis and Colorado are the rule, rather than the exception, in these circumstances.Wear your seatbelt.

Can't blame Patterson at all for seeing the limitations of the system he'd be asked to play. It is probably a good choice to move on. Now, is he a capable enough player to warrant consideration at WSU? I don't think Patton was a very good coach, but I believe he recruited fairly well. His offering Patterson would indicate to me that Patterson has something going for him other than height alone."I not sure that I've ever been around a more competitive player or young man than Fred VanVleet. I like to win more than 99.9% of the people in this world, but he may top me." -- Gregg Marshall 12/23/13 :peaceful:

"Bzdelik wants a very quick team with up tempo and everybody on the floor running and shooting 3's. His template does not include a big tree clogging the court and slowing down the action. Just a different philosophy, but was successful at Air Force."
That being the case, im4wsu and trop, the question that arises about Patterson is how well he'd fit into WSU's template under Marshall. The Marshall Plan for Shocker basketball may not be identical to what has worked for Bzdelik in the past, but is it similar enough that Patterson wouldn't really fit here either?
Or is it possible that Patterson could develop into a good enough rebounder and outlet passer that he could contribute significantly even if he isn't as mobile as one would like? On the other hand, if that were really the expectation for him, they might have wanted to hang onto him at Colorado, too. My impression is that the knack of being really good at getting the ball out and enabling your teams to run while you hang back at the defensive end -- Bill Walton with his defective knees and Wes Unseld are a couple of examples that come to mind -- may be something you either have or you don't, and isn't so much a skill that is developed.

I'd guess with two 7 footers now, we can probably forget about Patterson. :DInfinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan
