Mr. New York in B-Ball huh? Why not? He'd be playing some games close to home. Good recruiting tool.

I'd rather not lose a current player (in addition to the one we're already losing) to give this guy a scholarship for a sit-out year. There's a possibility that a current player is leaving that the coaches know about that would open up a scholarship.
We also have one open scholarship.
I would not be surprised if we have three new players next year (counting the two already signed), and if my guess is correct, it won't hurt our depth because the frontcourt player does not see the court very much, so we could afford to bring someone in and have them redshirt a year.
it would also give us a leg up on 2018, when we will have to replace a whole bunch of players. We get a guy who can play ball, has good experience and will come in to give us some depth when we need it.
What's not to like about that?

One is a guard, one is a forward. One seemed to lose his confidence as the season progressed, the other one used to fight with the coach when he did get into the game, but doesn't play much now and has had other players pass him by.
