In basic training I used to read the Olympian some. Drank Oly beer too.

Timberline (19-5) beat North Thurston 67-55 on Saturday (can't find details) and are now guaranteed a berth in the State Tournament as one of the Top 8 teams. As the #5 RPI team, they next play a regional matchup vs. #4 Kelso on Feb. 24. A win would give them a bye in the first round of the State Tournament and a March 1 game. A loss and they would face the loser of the #12/#13 regional elimination matchup on Feb. 28, which could be a fourth matchup with #12 North Thurston (21-3), which beat them twice during the regular season and won Timberline's league.
At any rate, despite their #5 ranking, they're not a favorite to go deep in the tourney, as they have a 2-5 record against the field, including blowout losses to #2, #3 and #10. Those good losses elevated them in the RPI, which is why they're a much higher seed than the team that won their league. #big12effect
“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'”

Ron Baker dominated on defense because he was so solid. Eric is capable of dominating too when defending. This is what I hope to see out of Eric. AR is a very good offensive player but he's no Ron Baker on defense.

This is true, though I'm excited to see what Reaves can do if he stays healthy through the end of this season and over the summer. I don't think he's ever going to be as stout as Baker (who was/is a beast, btw), but he might finally be able to gain some real core strength. His footwork, positioning, and effort are already quite good.
