Be sure to re-read Suellentrops article, he's added additional comments from scouting agencies and coaches. Apparently he's very quick and athletic but needs to work on his jumper. They refer to him as a lock down defender

We don't recruit backups, but I would guess Conner has the PG position nailed down for the next few years.

There may be a need to have a lockdown defender at PG, with upside.

Yep, the revised article makes him sound more impressive.

Taylor also fits that description. The two of them sound very similar and I think they will make us happy Shocker fans!

You guys realize this guy had to pass the FVV, Ron and Evan test don't you?

If he couldn't play or didn't fit in he wouldn't have committed after his visit.

A players visit is more than them visiting the school; it's about the existing cast "visiting" the recruit as well.

I had heard last week about an underrated guard that was almost being kept a secret by the staff, so as not to let the bloodhounds on the trail (see KState and others). My request for a name went on deaf ears so I assume this is the guy. I think the hidden ball trick even worked on Sully or else he was playing poker with the staff.

Some time next year we'll find out whether we got Tekele Cotton 2.0 or whether we got Tevin Glass 2.0.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

It might not be until the following year. It seems that Juco players at WSU don't hit their peak until their senior year.

OK. Maybe we can scratch all the other PGs and SGs on Trop's short list and get a big.?.?

Coach Marshall is beyond awesome at bringing talented guards in here. When we graduate 2 All American guards who are part of the 5 Seniors the same Season that will all be in our player rotation, we have to proceed with caution as we begin the reloading process, like our hair is on fire.

How many of us knew that both FVV and Baker would both be All Americans their Senior Season when they first got here? Thus, I am comfortable with the recruits we are getting and will get.

I'll grant you the AA, but many of us knew FVV was going to be very, very special.

I suppose a couple of years from now, we'll be hearing a lot of "No way Marshall lucks into some unheralded recruits turning into great players again.".....again.

Except TG was a last second signing because we needed a big and had one slot open. Smith has verbally committed over a year before he should be on campus.

That's very telling to me. This staff doesn't lock up kids this early in the process without them generally panning out.

At first glance this looks like a "we need a decent 3rd PG for depth" courtship. (I know Marshall "doesn't recruit backups", but he clearly has - Tevin Glass). But the fact that it came in the fall, after an official visit, is telling. Remember, we're one official visit short this year after the self-reported Peyton Allen situation. So it says a lot that Marshall used one of his official visits on this guy.
