        • I also remember it being reported from 3.3G that the roof will be blown off. Since the roof is still nestled safely in place, I can only assume it will happen during the season. I take the man at his word and I anxiously await that national title he must be referring to.

Yeah, and look how the beakers are mentioned:
Humphries visited Kentucky earlier this month and chose the Wildcats over schools like Oregon, New Mexico, Wichita State and others.

                  • So the other night I was watching Kentucky play the flagship and was surprised young mister Humphries didn't even sniff the court. Even when Kentucky's bigs started to get into some foul trouble, Cal didn't put him on the court. Not sure if he was hurt (he didn't play in that game nor the following game against Tennessee) or Cal is just not using him all that much.

A quick look at his stat line reveals about 9 MPG with 2 points a game and 2 rebounds a game. He was touted as having a high BBIQ but as a very young NBA prospect that needed some polish. He's not seeing much of the court and not real productive when he is. Again, this is just a quick glance at his stats. That's clearly not the entire story. Has anybody seen him on the court?

I suspected he would get buried on UK's bench and that seems to be the case.

Either way, I wonder if he regrets his decision? Would he get more minutes if he had chose to play in the black and yellow? Would you pursue him if he transferred from Kentucky?

                    • with no disrespect to anyone on this fine forum...but this young man is an idiot and whoever advised him to go to big blue is an idiot as well.

                        • He listened to whomever was advising him - or he had stars in his eyes and earplugs in his ears. Who knows for sure. I just hope it works out for him. I can't wish him ill because of a choice made.

Those numbers aren't too different from what Garrett Stutz put up in his freshman year. The difference between the two is that Garrett was given a chance to develop and contribute more and more each year while Humphries is going to get buried by the next NBA star. They both had a choice between Kentucky and Wichita State and they each might have made the right choice for themselves. Some people would prefer to ride the bench at UK than contribute at Wichita State, that's just the way it is.

                            • I watched Isaac play against Georgia in a 30-40 point blowout.

I honestly don't see the NBA upside. He reminded me of a young Garrett Stutz, with a little more weight.

I think he would have developed nicely here, but I don't see the "blow the lid off" program changer he was supposed to be.

                              • It's unfortunate for the young man (I think he's still 17 or perhaps just turned 18) because I think he's going to get buried on UK's bench as well. I hope I'm wrong, for his sake. I will also say that I don't think 3G gets enough credit for developing bigs. Granted, he hasn't had too many to mold but I don't anyone should doubt his ability to get the most out of anyone on the roster. While many of us would like Shaq to be more productive than what he has, I think it's pretty clear he's improved immensely this year. It will be interesting to see how he does without Fred in his ear and feeding him the ball next year. I just have to say that I think Isaac would have gotten far more playing time at Wichita State.
