@bob:mcdonald: After Anton Grady's visit (per @GoodmanESPN), I have to think Wichita State is the frontrunner to get him.

I'd rather have his knees be fresh and intact too, but lots of guys have had bad knees and gone on to be effective -- even great -- players (the incomparable, interplanetary Bill Walton comes to mind as an example of how good they can be, despite knee limitations). So given Grady's experience and immediate availability, and if he wants to do the work required to be a Shocker and Marshall wants him, that's enough for me. Proven D-1 players may not give you the Powerball wins that Early represented in most cases, but they're also less likely to be big misses. I also think it's telling that a school like Gonzaga eagerly pursues one-year guys who seem to fit their needs.
So that's my two-pronged test: does Grady (a) satisfy WSU's needs (b) as perceived by Marshall? If so, add him to the guys returning, whom Marshall and Co. will likely also have coached up some by next fall, and that should give the Shocks a solid group to use in making a run.Last edited by WSUwatcher; April 29, 2015, 05:54 PM.

After next year, there's reason to hope that Nurger and Hamilton and Morris (and maybe McDuffie, depending on his physical development) should be able to serve as a foundation.
