I think part of the reason that Ron and Fred disappeared sometimes last year was that we depended too much on them. We really didn't have the offensive presence under the basket to keep defenses honest.

As far as the second statement goes, I'll probably have to give you that one perhaps if he can get good position, . You're supposed to maintain your position on defense, but not being able to jump (or a general lack of mobility) might affect his ability to snag rebounds.

I totally agree, but I want more next year. I'd like another FF. I was very happy with our performance this year. Sweet 16, beating KU (the icing on the cake). We didn't overachieve, but we didn't underachieve, either.

I think for us to get to the FF, we have to have the talent and the stars have to align, but I'd STILL like another FF. Set your goals high and hope for the best.

I get great amusement that one second people on this site talk about how overrated power 5 conferences are and they talk crap on fans of those teams that look down on WSU and the MVC, then the next moment they are doing those exact same things they are complaining about to conferences that rated lower than the MVC in the RPI. Hahaha seems a little hypocritical.

According to RPIforcast.com, the Horizon league is 6 spots closer and the actual RPI number is 4 times closer to the MVC than the MVC is to the Big 12

I have a tendency to agree that last year's team overachieved, although nothing that they were able to accomplish surprised me. My question is do you base that statement on the idea that our depth was so young and unproven, or is there something else that makes you think that?

Respectfully disagree. Call me a spoiled fan but I want and expect more next season. Sorry it's gotten to the point that winning in this crappy league is just expected and not necessarily an achievement. This team is built to go deep next season. The monster must be fed.

There is a big difference between acknowledging that something great has a realistic chance of happening and as such being excited about it, and expecting it to happen.

The top 4-5 teams were close to or above 100 in the RPI. Shocks and UNI were Top 12 in the RPI. ISUR was 53ish. The top Horizin teams were Top 75 for Valpo and WGB with a drop off to 115-130 for the next two. Both the MVC and Horizon had the remainder of teams 200-290 or so.
The MVC and Horizon league have to play non-conference games on the road or neutral courts to not play teams that are not good. Therefore, when comparing MVC to Horizon, you are comparing apples to apples. When comparing P5 conferences to the MVC and Horizon, you are comparing apples to oranges. That is the difference.

We started the season with 5 players that had D1 experience and only one of those was a post player. If you need me to go into further detail, I'll be happy to exchange PMs with you.
