I don't consider our 6-7ish PFs to be undersized, but we are just short enough that 6-9 PFs are concerned about being forced to play the center. Landing or developing a 6-10+ C is paramount in the next two years.
6-10 and up centers with talent are always in short supply and high demand. That's more true this year than most and that goes for high school seniors and juco players.

Sully has the date wrong. Mitchell will be visiting in October 9 through 11th during Shocker Madness.

I've never been to Shocker Madness. Do you have to buy tickets, or is it a first come first served type of event?

Just show up. I don't think CKA has ever been more than half full, maybe 6k, for Shocker Madness.

I really, really, really like this recruit and hope we get his verbal before too many other Programs start eyeballing his basketball skills. Really, I mean it. And can he take a charge like another player from Minnesota we had, Jake "I never twitched" White.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Best of luck to @MitchellSteffon on his campus tours. First up is Utah State this weekend... I hear Logan, Utah is beautiful.

I'd love to get to the point where we are constantly bringing in players rated 50-100.

I'd prefer to bring in a few top 50's along with those 50-100s.

Lol I wouldn't complain. I think our conference affiliation and geography will make it difficult for us to get to the point where we are able to bring top 50 guys in on a regular basis.

I agree. Was being a bit of a smart a$$. However, I do think that the more often we are in the National Championship conversation, and the more NBA guys we keep pushing out the door, the better our chances of getting one now and then become.

We've got D-1 offered players walking on, a top 50 guy and another D-1 player (both from Power 5 conferences) transferring in to sit out on their own dime before playing, all conference players coming from other schools to play here, and our most recent recruiting "battle" was against UK, so I'd say we are on our way up the ladder, with no ceiling in sight.

I hear ha Shockda and I used to feel that way too. But I am a bigger fan of the team approach, or better yet, the player approach of 3G who gets guys who buy into his team-first philosophy. He gets guys who recognize they have to sacrifice playing time to get to the ultimate prize of winning a National Championship.

Calamari, I mean Calipari, makes no bones about recruiting kids whose main goal is the NBA and if they win an NC on the way, well good for them. Eff that.

I love college BB because it's NOT the NBA. I'm sure there are top 50 players that are about the team-first philosophy and if there are, I'm positive Gregg will find them. In the meantime, I'm pretty damn appreciative of what he's accomplished with a handful of three stars.

I feel 50-100 is that sweet spot of the players being talented enough to be great college players, but not talented enough to leave after a year or two.

It feels good to get 50-100 players, especially if they are 7'. But rankings are only so important.

                            Brown 200 or so
                            Baker ????
Two are stars already and one is on the cusp?

                              Fred was #83 on ESPN.

I agree with what you're saying. It's all a crap shoot, but there is a correlation between the higher the rating and the chance the kid pans out to be a good player.
