"This year’s roster alone features seven players who are among the top 150 prospects in the country, according to Rivals.com, an authoritative rankings list—as many as the vaunted national basketball factories Oak Hill Academy, Montverde Academy, and Findlay Prep combined."
And then there is this:
"Watching these kids play in a gym with virtually no distractions is a recruiter’s nirvana. Brewster’s backcourt is the country’s best, hands down, and arguably the best in NEPSAC history. They are clever and outrageously fast. Smith doesn’t let any of them off the hook either, one of the reasons players of this high caliber seek him out. “He gives them enough rope to mature and grow and make mistakes,” says ESPN college basketball reporter Jeff *******. “But he’s not going to give them too much rope.”"

I would assume his connection with Kyle and knowledge of our program is what brought him to the verbal commitment with Wichita State. I assume his move to Brewster is recognition that Sunrise (with Kyle's departure) might no longer be the best option for his prep year and he's found what arguably could be the much better place. I hope to track his progress through the year and am hopeful, come November, he signs with the Shox.

I spoke with someone in the Brewster Academy athletic department and he said their prep team's schedule should be online by the second week of October. Brewster is about a three hour drive from where I live, but, luckily for me, they have a road game each year at another prep power, St. Thomas More, which is only 15 minutes from me. The Brewster guy told me that game is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 6. I'll be sure to rep my Shocker gear for that game. I'm sure I'll be able to talk to him. The St. Thomas More gym is not much bigger than a middle school gym, with a regulation court, obviously. The only seating area, other than the small stage at one end of the court, is opposite the players, who sit in moveable chairs with their backs near a wall. And the seating area only has about six rows. Definitely low budget stuff, especially when you consider the immensely talented kids that play there.

Bluzrover, that's a great write-up on Brewster. The writer confirms what I've been saying...almost nobody watches these ultra-talented kids. But the college coaches are always in attendance. Thanks for the link. Brewster's gym is so much bigger and better than St. Thomas More's hole-in-the-wall gym.
