I've been to a lot of City League games over the years, and I don't remember many, if any, where the gym was that empty. But having never been to a Sunrise game, I don't know how their crowds compare with the regular Wichita high schools either. So is it just a prep school thing: smalller fanbase, smaller crowds? Or do they just not care all that much in Brewsterland?
Consider this: Most all of the players are from somewhere else so that greatly reduces the family and friends. If the games aren't publicized much in an area where there are many other things to do what you end up with is a few students and scouts.

      • I saw CJ this afternoon for Brewster's quarterfinal playoff game and his offense game has not improved at all. He is a very athletic defender with great footwork and can see the whole floor to help when needed. But it's obvious he isn't interested in scoring. I saw most of the second half (sorry but it's tax season) and I think he only took two or three shots, making one. He is great as a leader on the floor, not necessarily as a PG, but more like a coach on the floor. Hopefully, when he gets to Wichita, the Shocker coaches can help him develop a little bit on offense. I'm not picking on him, just letting u guys know what we may see when he arrives in Wichita.

Just give the ball to Austin Reaves right?

            • LOL. I should add that he never sat during the time I was there, so the Brewster coaches are happy with his game.

                      • "blistering first step"

                        • That's a very misleading observation by him. He is very athletic and definitely explosive, but to say he has a "blistering fi rst step" basically means he's driving toward the rim, but he rarely did that in the 2 games I saw him play. He's could do that physically, but he just doesn't have that mentality. Excellent assessment other than that. He could be pretty awesome if he looks for his shot a little more when he gets to Wichita.

Where was Cotton when he first arrived... Just do what you do best, play lock down defense... The shot can be worked on... But that defensive prowness can not
