  • So you are telling me that there is no way FVV starts at point, Baker at the 2, and Mulder at the 3 or Mulder at the 2 and Baker at the 3. Have you watched any tape of this kid?

I think what he's saying is, there's no way Mulder starts over a 5th-year senior who started all of last season. And he's probably right. The players Marshall will put on the floor to start a game will be his most trusted. That doesn't mean Mulder wouldn't have games with more minutes than Wessel.

      • This is all based on the assumption that Evan plays the 3, correct.

If there was a lunker in the Wiggins family, it was Andrew coming out of high school, not Nick coming out of Vincennes, and Mulder is a lot more like Nick than he is like Andrew. No doubt he's a fine player (WSU wouldn't have been so interested in him otherwise -- but was that before or after McDuffie joined the crew?). But if WSU's primary interest is in a quality big who's ready to contribute this year, as from all indications is the case, Mulder doesn't fit the description. If he signs, either WSU is giving up on adding a big, which would surprise me at this point, or we're likely to see one more dropout in some form or another.

One other thing: how many games did Nick Wiggins start his junior season, even with original SF starter Wessel sidelined the entire second semester (Evan ended up missing 31 games) and Baker out for 21 games? (Hint: it isn't zero, as I originally would have guessed; but it's really, really close.)

Maybe 1? I feel like he might've started the Southern Miss game, where it seemed like half our team was injured. If not, it has to be one of the games around that point.

Edit: Looked it up. I blocked the SIU game out of my mind, so that's my excuse. :)

Has anyone else heard anything similar? Or is my "friend" just blowing smoke?
I have heard this as well. I can't confirm the validity. Of course I was the one that heard it was a "game changer" so perhaps they were just reciting my post.

                      • While he might get some playing time this year. Some freshman will take his minutes next year... If he is committing to UK.

                        • While Its frustrating that his coach wouldn't let him commit to WSU in the Fall, like he wanted, MM still could have stuck to his guns when "bigger" schools came calling. (Sound like someone we know?)

Whatever he chooses though, best of to him.

Reliable sources tell HHC that Windsor, ON's 6'4" Mychal Mulder will formally announce his commitment to Kentucky Tuesday afternoon.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't see this tweet was included in an earlier post.
