Honestly, I was really hoping we would get a beast down low with our last spot. A 6'11" 255 lbs rim protector who prefers to go through you then around you. A guy that Fred can feed on the post. A guy that can create his own shot down low and also be able to defend other teams big guys. Glass looks like a great prospect, but I kind of feel like he is very similar to 60% of our current incoming recruits. A 6'7"-6'8", fairly thin, sf/pf tweener, who's great at slashing to the basket, and has the potential to add some range to their game.

Marshall is banking with Shaq and Bush as his post players next season...with Glass Carter and Kelly helping a little on the glass

Unfortunately Embid declared for the NBA.

Darius will start........if Tevin Glass is the other starter, Darius is the 5.

Well if you're going to get a guy who is a good rebounder you might as well get one named Glass. At the very least he should me motivated to live up to his name.

Embiid is a special player. I would take him #1 if it was me. Guys that big shouldn't be that coordinated or athletic. He isn't really a banger though. He is more going to go over you or around you. Not through you. Incoming KU recruit Cliff Alexander is more of what I'm talking about. A nasty guy who's going to play angry and push you where ever he pleases.

If Julius Randle doesn't go #1 it will be more proof that crappy NBA teams stay crappy for a reason.

I don't believe Randall is even in the conversation for #1. Everything I have read says Parker, wiggins, or embiid. I've seen mocks with Randal going after #5

                    • I think James Young is top 3 talent as well...havent really seen much of the Aussie point guard...but I just dont see Wiggins being more then a role player, rather then leading a team...and Embid could be huge or a Gregg Oden...so the safe picks are coming out of Kentucky imo

Plus, I don't think Embiid was ready to graduate and do an immediate eligibility transfer to WSU. If Glass is 220, he's Cle's size. Of course, not everyone who is Cle's size has his game -- still, like others, in Marshall I trust as well.

It would not be out of the question to see Carter / Morris at C and Glass / Kelly at PF, with Wamukota redshirting. I know jucos usually don't do that once they get to WSU, but Orukpe redshirted IN juco, so what's to prevent a player who would be better with an extra year of work and polishing from doing it after he arrives? Wamukota is not your ordinary, garden variety juco center -- he's still learning the game.

Parker would be the only guy I might take above Randall. Might. But if you're a team that needs someone who is ready to contribute at the NBA level from day 1 you go with Randall.

Of course if you have the patience, coaching, and veteran locker room to allow some of those other guys to develop it would be easy to convince yourself to draft them instead. Most lottery teams don't have have that convenience.
