Of course if you have the patience, coaching, and veteran locker room to allow some of those other guys to develop it would be easy to convince yourself to draft them instead. Most lottery teams don't have have that convenience.
To me the choice is Embiid. With the sad state of NBA big men these days I think he has the best chance to be a franchise player. He is the second coming of Hakeem Olajuwon. I think Embiid has a better chance of becoming the best center in the NBA than any of the other prospects do at becoming the best at their positions. He is already a game changer at the defensive end and he has the potential to be an offensive star too. I could see him being a 20+ ppg 10+ rpg 2+ bpg in the future

It’s a good debate (sorry for continuing the thread hijack)… I would have a difficult time not choosing Andrew Wiggins #1; he’s one of the greatest athletes I’ve ever seen. He’s still very young and should have been a freshman in the ’14-’15 season. They all have a huge upside, however Wiggin’s upside is ‘literally’ off the charts.

P.S. I was sold the first time I watched this video:

Here is the recap of Andrew Wiggins senior year at Huntington Prep. Hoopmixtape Volume 2!Beat By Cypria. Check out his fan page here:http://facebook.com/Cypr...

P.S. II. Mark my words; some day AW will 'chip a tooth' on the rim. :)

      • Hijackers! Isn't there an NBA draft thread somewhere?

        • You can't really judge a guy off a mixtape. It's a video compromising all his great plays and leaving out all the bad ones. I watched a lot of KU games this year and I wasn't that impressed with Wiggins. He is crazy athletic, has great length, and a great defender, but he has a lot of red flags. He doesn't handle the ball well. His offensive game is lacking. He depends on his superior length and athleticism to get around defenders. I question how well he will be able to score at the next level when everyone is long and athletic. He completely disappears for full games. His basketball skills are unpolished. Maybe he can develop his skills and become a star. I think the bust factor is big with Wiggins. I question his mindset. Doesn't seem to have that killer instinct you like to see from guys.

A guy that Fred can feed on the post. A guy that can create his own shot down low and also be able to defend other teams big guys. Glass looks like a great prospect, but I kind of feel like he is very similar to 60% of our current incoming recruits. A 6'7"-6'8", fairly thin, sf/pf tweener, who's great at slashing to the basket, and has the potential to add some range to their game.
A one and done first round draft choice too?

There…I just described Bush Wamakota for you. He doesn't meet all of your criteria, but he checks a lot of boxes.

Bush does excite me, but I think it'll take him till his second year till he really shines

I may be all wet but it seems to me that 3G prefers quickness and length to bulk. Or maybe that is just my preference.

Darius Carter from example is 6-7, but he is a long 6-7 and probably plays more like a "normal" 6-9 player in terms of length with a little better quickness.

I have no idea what kind of player B-Wam will be but I would expect him to add 10 pounds a year to his frame while a Shocker. Reportedly he has pretty good hands and shoots free throws OK. Right there are two uprades from EO. I doubt he will be quite the rim protector EO was but we will see.

This statement in and of itself will endear Rashard to Coach Marshall. This in and of itself doesn't mean Rashard is a great defender but so much of defense is desire it's good start. Wouldn't hurt my feelings at all if Rashard ends up being a 6-7 version of Tekele.

I think 195 may have been his weight as a Senior in high school. I would hope he is probably in the 215-225 range by now.

That is correct. He was listed at 185 after his junior year and 195 after his senior year...but those were recruiting site estimates.
